Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a good start to your Wednesday! Today, I would like to welcome you, to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad that you stopped by and my prayer today; is that we will find the hope; that can keep our heads high above the troubled waters.
You know…I think the one thing we can all agree on today; is that this life isn’t getting any easier. It seems like each day continues to be a struggle…to the place, where we can barely keep our heads above the waters of our circumstances.
The way I see these times; is that even though we feel as if we are about to drown beneath these troubled waters; there is a God who is still holding us up, while not allowing us to go further into the depth of despair.
One day, I was thinking about creation and how God keeps the stars…moon…sun and even this earth suspended in mid-air. When we look at the stars at night, we don’t see them hanging by anything man-made…only something truly out of the ordinary.
In a similar way, I think of my own life and the countless trials I’ve faced…as moments, when a powerful God had me suspended above a pit of total despair…keeping me from falling into total destruction, while still using the trial to strengthen me; so I could continue to press on with Him. I can honestly say; that I wouldn’t be here…writing you today, if it wouldn’t have been for God and how He used my moments of affliction, while keeping me safely suspended, above the place that could have taken me down for good.
If we could only focus on the moments, when God is holding us up, rather than where our trial is attempting to take us; then I truly believe that these moments alone, would help us to take our eyes away from what’s wrong; so we could focus more deeply, on a hope that could truly become the anchor for our soul.
One of my favorite stories in the Bible; is where Peter was walking out on the water towards Jesus. As long as he kept his focus on Jesus…he was fine; but the minute he became caught up in the storm and the waves that surrounded him; that is when he began to sink in the water. I truly believe that Peter’s faith was the lifeline that connected him to Jesus…a lifeline that kept him high above the waters of despair; but the moment when he became caught up in the boisterous sea; that is when he lost his connection with God and allowed the storm to have control. In a similar way…we too can become so caught up in what is happening around us; that we completely bypass the One who is holding us above the troubled waters…the One who is sustaining us, even though He has still allowed the storm to remain for a time.
Isn’t it amazing how Satan can not only afflict us; but also control these moments of affliction and get us to believe that we are going to drown beneath the waves of our circumstance? Today, we need to keep our eyes on Jesus and know in our hearts that He will never allow us to drown beneath the troubled sea. When we can truly remain connected to God and join in the battle, rather than succumbing to it; that is when I believe we will find the anchor of hope to hold to…an anchor that will help us through these troubled times, until the storms have passed.
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
