Hello everyone and welcome today, to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad that you’re here today and my prayer is that we will truly experience a connection with God; that will keep us distant and disconnected, from the problems that attempt to take over our lives!
As I spent some very special moments alone with God…this past Saturday night, I began to ask God to speak to my heart and give me something that would help me to remain connected with Him, as I was preparing to begin another new week of service for Him.
While listening to some music and focusing deeply on His presence in my life, I began to feel His love for me…along with a promise; that He would never leave me alone because My first love would always be with me. As I focused more on that thought; He began to remind me that He was only my first love; because I had made Him my first love.
You know…I remember a time in my life, when I would put everything and everyone above God. It seemed as though I would fit God into whatever open space was available at the time; but I found through it all; that nothing or no one could ever satisfy my heart and give me peace, like a true and lasting connection, with the most powerful God.
There have been many times; that I have talked on connecting deeply with God, rather than the problem; but what does that really mean? Let’s think of it this way…let’s say that we wanted to charge our phone, while listening to some music. The only problem we have; is that we only have one place to plug in two devices. We have to choose…would we rather charge the phone or listen to the music. I guess that when it comes down to it all, we have to see what we need the most at that time, which to me, would be to charge the phone. Once we plug in the charger and connect the phone to the charger; then we know from there; that we will be able to connect with anyone who calls us. In a similar way…we need to stop and think about our connections in life. We know that if we are connected to this world or the problems that enter our lives; then we won’t be able to be plugged into God…which to me is much more important.
I have come to see that the only way that we will be able to keep ourselves plugged into God and disconnected from the problems we face; is when we make Him our first love. You know…I have come to see one thing in my life…and that one thing; is how important God is to me. Even though I can find encouragement from others around me; there is nothing like making God your first love…the One who will listen to you and never judge you or walk away from you…the One who will never belittle you or make you feel, as if you always have to be strong on your own…like others, who place such expectations on our lives.
When we can truly see God, as everything we need…the only true connection that can disconnect us from evil and the works of darkness; that is when we will truly long to connect with Him and make Him our first love every day.
Today, can we say that we have become so in touch with the world and the traditions of this world; that we only plug into God, when there is room and time for Him? I truly believe that when we place God above everything in our lives and connect with Him daily; that this is when we will experience all the benefits of His presence…flowing through that connection…from His heart to ours.
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
