Friday...Feb. 14, 2020 | You are loved...Happy Valentine's Day!

2/14/2020

Hello everyone…and a very “Happy Valentine’s Day” to you! As we begin our time together, I would like to first remind you that there is One who loves you so much…more than you will ever know…and His name is Jesus Christ; so no matter if you are celebrating Valentine’s Day with someone or not…Jesus is there for you…AMEN!!
As I’ve been sitting here…thinking on one of my favorite holidays; I was reminded, as to how we can have moments, when we feel so bombarded by problems; that we begin to feel overwhelmed by what we are going through; which can lead us to feel, as if no one could ever love us…even God.
I remember a time within my own life, while dealing with a past sexual abuse…that I would just sit to myself and feel such shame…that those feelings actually took away what love I once felt; but as God walked me out of those moments, I truly did come to experience a love like no other.
Today, I would like to share a couple Bible verses with you, from Romans 8:38-39…and we read… “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39) neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Isn’t it amazing, as to how we tend to compare the love of God, with what we experience here on earth? We think that if we make a mistake or lack in faith; that we aren’t good enough for Him…but one thing I have truly come to see; is that His love is like no other. God’s love first came to us, through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ…and it was a love that came freely, with no strings attached. His love is strong enough to walk beyond failure…just so He can help us make it right…and His love is a love that is truly drawn to the brokenhearted…just as I have experienced within my own life. His love also never walks away from us or grows tired of our failures and struggles. In fact, His love draws even closer to us, during these difficult times.
You know…I would say that the first time that I truly experienced God’s love, was when I was in counseling for sexual abuse. I will never forget the day, when one session of group counseling had hit me hard…to the place, where I just wanted to give up. After returning home…I sat on my bed and cried, until there were no tears to cry. As I sat quietly alone, I got a glimpse of my Bible…that was lying off to the side of me…and I took hold of it and began to pour my heart out to God. As I opened the Bible, this is the verse that stood before me… “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” (Psalm 34:18) Instantly, I began to look around the room…for I truly knew…for the first time; that my God was there...sustaining me and holding me in arms of love. From that day on…I was never the same.
How do we truly experience the love of God? I have found…through a lifetime of pain and deep heartache; that it’s by relating to Him, rather than the problems we face. He’s there for us…reaching out with open arms…and all He’s waiting for us to do; is to run into those open arms of love.
No matter what you are facing…and no matter how it’s made you feel…just know that there is a God who will love you through it all…and all you have to do; is turn your face away the problem and look deeply, into the One who truly loves you so much…Amen!!
Well…I sure have enjoyed this very special Valentine’s Day writing! I do pray that you will come to experience a love that will never let go; but will ALWAYS be there for you…no matter what you face in life! As we close, I pray that you will have a very special Valentine’s Day…and just remember one thing…you are loved!
Have a great Friday…take care and I will hope to be with you tomorrow!
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
