Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Thursday to you all! It’s so good to be back with you today…and my prayer for all of us; is that God will give us something special today…something that can become a reminder to us; that He has and will always be there for us…Amen!!
This morning, as I was doing something in the kitchen… the wind began to pick up and leaves began to fall down like rain. If you were to know me well…one thing you would come to see; is that autumn is my favorite season of the year…and why? Because there was a time as a young girl, when I had walked down the road and had crossed the field…only to discover the beautiful colors of autumn. As I stood on the edge of a wooded area…chomping down on an apple…the wind picked up and leaves began to swirl all around me. The colors were so vibrant, as I stood in a shower of leaves that were barn red, pumpkin orange and pear yellow. At the time, it seemed as if I just couldn’t get enough of what was taking place around me. Now, as many years have passed, I think back to that time in my life and wonder if God was already making Himself known to me, as I stood there alone on the edge of those woods. This afternoon, as I was looking through God’s word; He led me to a couple Bible verses in Psalm 73:23-25 and we read… “Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. 24) You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. 25) Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.” Just think…at a time when our circumstances are attempting to convince us that we have been abandoned by God…He is there…holding our hand and guiding us through the moments that seem so difficult to withstand. As I read these verses and look back on my life, I can’t help but know that God was with me, at a time when I lived in a world of deep pain and heartache…and I can tell you one thing for sure and that is this…there is no one on this earth that can compare to what God has been for me…and I can also truly say that this earth has nothing that I desire…only Him. There are times when I wonder if we feel abandoned by God; because we are just too attached to the problem. It’s amazing how our hearts and thoughts can become sidetracked, by what the problem is attempting to convey to us. I remember as a young girl…always longing to escape the dysfunction in my home, along with other things that I was facing at the time; but you know what…I have truly come to see that no matter where I went, to escape these painful moments in my life; that God had been there all along…right beside me. Maybe today, you are feeling as if your problems are about to take you down for good…and maybe you feel as if God has walked away from you, at a time when you need Him the most. May I encourage you by saying…that He is right there with you. Maybe your circumstance has placed a dense fog around you…to the place, where the sun doesn’t seem to shine anymore; but one thing I know for sure; when we look beyond the fog and desire God’s presence above all else; then He will shine through the circumstance and reveal Himself to us. Instead of convincing yourself that God has walked away…why don’t you let the desire of your heart lead you directly to Him? One thing I can say from experience; is that God’s presence does surround us each day…and if we would only look, listen and reach out to Him, rather than every symptom of the problem; then I know without a doubt that we would truly come to see that He has been there all along. Have a very blessed day…and may you come to see and experience the love that God truly has for you! It’s Always & Only Because of Him… Diane Comments are closed.
