Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Thursday to you all! It’s so good to have you with me today…and my prayer as we begin; is that God would truly bless us all with a piece of hope…one that we can hold tightly to, while facing the uncertainties of this life…Amen!!
One thing I have truly come to see within my life; is how a circumstance can be so controlling…to the place that it causes us to lose hope. The thoughts that become so implanted within our minds, can attempt to convince us that there will be no end…to the suffering and pain we experience.
As I’ve been sitting here this morning…thinking on what God would have me to share with you today; He began to lead me to a Bible verse in 2 Corinthians 4:17…and we read… “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!”
Sometimes, I think we can find ourselves so caught up in what we are experiencing at the time; that before we know it…we begin to listen to what these troubling moments are conveying to us. I know that there have been many times in the past; that I have become so overwhelmed by what was taking place in my life; that before I could even realize it, I was headed in a direction that was only leading me to a place of bondage, with no hope in sight.
One thing I love about this verse; is where it says… “Yet they (our problems) produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” Here we see that these moments of circumstance we face are never a waste; but rather, they do produce something better…maybe something we never really knew before, which actually helps us to keep heading in a direction that will eventually free us from these troubling times, for all of eternity.
Again, we must remember that Satan is not only the one that afflicts us; but he is also the one that works at keeping our minds deceived and distant, from any kind of hope that can come out of these troubling times.
As many of you may already know…I live with chronic pain and chronic fatigue syndrome…and these circumstances I experience from day to day have a way of sometimes spelling out defeat. In fact, the symptoms I experience from this kind of pain and tiredness, can become so intense at times; that they have a way of making me feel as if these troubling moments will never find their end; but then God comes along and takes hold of my thoughts and reminds me, of all that I have gained through these troubling moments in my life…which helps me to remain connected to hope…the hope I need to keep pressing on.
You know…I think the problem we face; is that we are so caught up in our problems; that we completely miss out on the reason or purpose, for which God may be allowing these circumstances to enter our lives. The piece of hope that God is longing to fill our hearts with today; is that He will NEVER allow any circumstance into our lives, without first having a plan and purpose for it all.
Today…maybe you are experiencing an ongoing situation…and maybe you are beginning to feel as if this situation will never find its end. May I encourage you by saying; that God isn’t the one who has afflicted you. Maybe He has allowed you to be afflicted…just like He has me; but not as a means of defeat…for He still holds control over what He has allowed within your life.
Instead of viewing your circumstance in the way that this circumstance longs for you to see it; why not take a good hard look behind it and go after the purpose or reasoning, for which God has allowed these difficult times to enter your life. I’m sure that just as me…you will come to see that this short time of distress will result in God’s richest blessings upon your life…Amen!
Have a very blessed day…and may you always know that God has complete control over your life! God bless!
