Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Wednesday to you all! I’m so glad you came for a visit today…and my prayer for you; is that you will always find the strength to let go of your circumstances; that God may truly do a great work within your life…Amen!!
This morning, I had a few things to do around the house and as I was alone…cleaning a room; God began to work through my thoughts, which ended up being the topic for today’s writing.
As He was taking me back to a time, when I had faced a very frustrating and overwhelming situation; He was now showing me that after forgetting it and letting it go; that He was now at work.
You know…so many times, we find it difficult to let go of something; but one thing I have come to see; is that when we hold tightly to a situation…it only seems to worsen with time…and why…because we have taken the control away from a powerful God. I have found that when I let go of what’s bothering me, by thinking on other things; then this is my way of truly letting go, so God can take over and begin a better work; then what I could have even begun to think of doing.
As I’ve been sitting here…listening to some music, while spending some precious moments alone with God; He began to lead me to a Bible verse in John 15:4, which reads… “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”
When I was a young girl, I had a great grandfather that was only a path away from where I lived. When I would venture up to his place…I’ll tell you…it was like a small forest of fruits. He had an apple orchard…pears, blackberries, asparagus and a neat split rail fence that had wild grapes on it. As long as the vines continued to remain attached to the grape plants; then there was always a bounty of deep purple grapes.
As I’ve been thinking on this…I began to see even more, as to how we need to remain attached to the true vine, which is Jesus Christ. When we become detached and try to produce on our own or fix what’s been broken on our own; then we soon find that moments such as these only cause us to wither…to the place where life only becomes more difficult.
Just think…when we choose to hand over every situation to God; that is when we are placing our needs into hands that are more powerful than any other person or thing…and even the situation itself. In other words…He already knows what to do and how to do it; but on the other hand…when we choose to hold tightly to our problems; we are pushing that awesome power away from us…a power that can truly free us from despair.
Maybe lately, you have been facing some very trying times in your life…moments that may have truly caused you to unknowingly take hold of. May I encourage you today, to let go and connect to the true vine…the One that can produce better things for you and help you during these trying times in your life. One thing I know from experience…when we can trust God enough to let go; that is when we will begin to see how a powerful God can go the distance for us…Amen!
Have a great day…and I pray that you will find the strength through Christ, to let go of the heavy baggage that is weighing you down; that you may connect with a God who can lighten the load and help you through these troubled moments you’re facing…Amen!
