Hello everyone…and a very happy Monday to you all! I hope that your day is going well and that your week is off to a great start! As we begin our time together, my prayer for us all; is that we will truly come to see how praise can be the most powerful and effective weapon right now in our lives…Amen!!
This past Sunday, as Keith and I were spending some time together with God, we began to talk on several different topics. There was no doubt that the presence of God was in the room with us. At one time, we began to talk on what can truly deaden the forces of evil in our lives…and the one thing that I was truly reminded of; is that when we can praise God and find something good out of the bad; then we do weaken the forces of evil…and Satan himself.
One of my favorite Bible readings is in Acts 16:25-26…and we read… “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26) And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bands were loosed.”
These verses are a prime example, as to how a heart of praise can truly weaken the forces of evil…for as Paul and Silas gave praise to God…a powerful earthquake shook the foundations of the prison and everyone’s bands were loosed and the prison doors were opened. In other words…their hearts of praise drew the most powerful God into that prison and set them free.
Now, I want to stop for a moment and focus on how a heart of praise can affect us and the evil that surrounds us. First…we are actually strengthened and renewed in the presence of God, while on the other hand, these moments of praise must shake Satan from his so-called throne.
We must remember one thing…a heart of complaint only becomes fuel to a fire that is already burning. In other words…when we complain, rather than praise God; we are saying in so many words; that what Satan is afflicting us with is working; so from there, he continues to control us with the affliction even more. Now on the other hand…when we walk beyond complaint…to praise God; then we are weakening Satan and the works of evil…for there is more power in praise.
One morning, as I sat on my daybed in the office, I was about to thank God for a good night of rest; but then I stopped and thought to myself…honestly Diane; you never did have a good night. In fact…it was a bad night of ongoing pain. As I continued to sit there and think of a way to honestly praise God; I began to see that even though the night wasn’t its best…I still had made it through the night…and from there; I began to praise God for that.
So many times, we give into the affliction and complain because we can’t seem to see anything worthy of praise; but you know what…I think that if we could just sit there for a moment and think on it…we would come to truly see something good through the bad…something that we could praise God for.
One thing we must remember…especially now, as we are facing some tough times in this world; is that we will never make it through these times, when we are giving into what’s wrong. Each day…our words, thoughts and actions should be enhancing the power of God within our lives, while weakening the forces of evil…for its God who should be on that throne…reigning and ruling over our lives…not Satan.
You know…the battles are hard and difficult at times…and there can even be moments when we are so weak; that we just can’t even find the strength within to praise God; but when we can truly come to see, as to how praise can become one of the most powerful and effective weapons to ward off evil; then strength will automatically be found…and in the end, we will come to see how we can truly be lifted on high with God…far above despair…to a place where Satan no longer has the power to reach us…Amen!
Take care and have a very blessed day!
