Thursday...Dec. 26, 2019 | Christmas at the Chamberlain's

12/26/2019

Hello everyone…and welcome back today, to my blog…“Writing thru Affliction!” It’s so good to be back with you today…and I truly hope that you had a nice Christmas!
I would say that yesterday was one of the best Christmas’ I ever had. It was a little different than planned; but God was truly in it all, from morning to evening!
My day started out with a surprise…a blanket of snow that I never had expected. In fact, as I looked out the window…the snow was still falling, which made it even more beautiful!
After waking up, we decided to call someone overseas…a Christian that we have been supporting for 8 years. For a few days now, he had been having phone problems…and even after trying to repair the phone…it was about ready to die for good; so Keith and I arranged to get him a new phone…after all, we couldn’t lose contact. He has a job…but due to the way Christians are treated in his country…he only makes $100 a month…can you believe that! Anyways…we almost lost him for good; but God kept the phone going, until we could get him set up with a new one…so that took care of about half of our morning…which we didn’t mind.  It was amazing though…because after we finally got everything set up for him…the sun shone brightly through the window, which made me feel very close to God at that moment.
Once we got our overseas friend taken care of, while wishing him a Merry Christmas…Keith and I went out into the kitchen and got a turkey stuffed and ready for the oven. While we were doing that…I had some Monkey Bread warming up; that I had made the day before, which is actually round balls of dough that are coated with cinnamon and brown sugar and baked into bread…mmm!
When we were finished with the turkey…we sat in the living room and relaxed, while eating this very good Monkey Bread. While we were sitting there, I said to Keith… “Why don’t we just do something different…and lounge around the house, until early afternoon; then we can get around earlier for the evening…and then have Christmas dinner…as I had gotten a late start on the dinner. You don’t know how great of a morning Keith and I had. Usually, we are on daily schedules with the ministry…so this was a gift in itself. Later in the day…we made plates of all the good food I had made…and then we went into my office and relaxed and had a great Christmas dinner.
Recently, I had posted a Bible verse from Proverbs 16:1…but I would like to share it with you again today… “We can make our plans, but the final outcome is in God’s hands.” This is exactly what Keith and I experienced this Christmas…and that was why it was so special. There were many things that we didn’t plan yesterday…but by allowing Christ to lead the way…we truly were able to experience Him even more in our Christmas…and this Christmas will always remain etched upon my heart!
No matter what we face in life…may I encourage us all, to let God lead the way? Maybe we have ideas and thoughts that can help our situation…but when we let God lead us to the final outcome…then we truly know that all things will be made new…and at its very best!
Well…time to start my day! I pray that you will also have a good Thursday! Take good care and I will hope to be with you later!
Many…many blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
