Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Tuesday to you all! I pray that your day is going well…and even more, I pray that you will ALWAYS find the strength to press on…no matter what may stand before you…Amen!
From time to time…God fills my thoughts with ideas for these writings in advance…and as I write them down, I just thank Him in my heart; for we definitely needs words of hope and encouragement, to see us through these trying times that we’re facing.
The other day, as I was talking with God; one of the thoughts that He shared from His heart to mine; is that we need to continue to press on…no matter what we may be facing. Believe me when I say; that this isn’t always easy. In fact…I have found that sometimes pressing on can mean that the steps become smaller, while the body and mind become weaker; but on the other hand, I have come to truly see that when we pursue and press on, during the worst of times; then we do gain strength and a greater faith that becomes the hand; that can truly take hold of us and lead us to the source of God’s help.
Another one of my favorite Bible readings is found in 2 Kings 4:1-7…and we read… “The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” 2) Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” 3) Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. 4) Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.” 5) She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. 6) When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.
7) She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”
In this Bible reading, we see a woman who had just lost her husband and was left with a debt that the creditors were seeking after. As she approached Elisha; she opened up her heart and told him of all that had happened…and that the creditors were coming to take her boys as payment for the debt. At first, Elisha didn’t know how to help; but God did.
As the woman and her sons pursued the answer to their need; that was given to them by God, through the prophet Elisha; they began to collect and fill jars and bowls with olive oil and once each vessel was filled…the oil stopped flowing…and they were able to not only pay off their debt; but they also had extra to live on.
Now what would have happened, if she wouldn’t have taken hold of the answer to her problem and pursued it? I would think that she would have lost her sons, as a means of paying off her husband’s debt…and her circumstance would have only worsened with time.
How many times do we find ourselves giving into the problem that stands before us, rather than pursuing God’s help? One thing that I have truly learned in my life; is that if I would have never pursued the help that God was longing to offer me…through the pain and deep heartache that I once faced; then I know without a doubt that I wouldn’t be writing you today…and my husband wouldn’t be eating great meals…and the house wouldn’t be what it is.
One thing I can say to you today…is that pursuing isn’t always easy; but it does lead us to God’s very best. We must remember that if we choose to sit in the midst of despair and focus on what is taking place in our lives; then we will never go anywhere in life. You know…sometimes the hardest answers are found…through the long, hard and difficult journeys of life; but once we choose to pursue and never give up; then we do come to see how far God can take us with our faith.
No matter what you are facing…now is not the time to sit in your ashes of despair; but now is the time to seek God with all your heart…and as the answers begin to flow from His heart to yours; get up…shake the circumstance from you and begin to pursue with all your heart and with all the faith you can muster. One thing I can say to you today… from my heart to yours; is that when we pursue…pursue…and pursue; then our faith will walk us into the answers we so desperately need…Amen!!
Have a great day…and I pray that you will never give up on life; but that you will seek God with all your heart and soul. God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
PS…Tomorrow, there won’t be any writing; but I will hope to see you on Thursday…so come back and see what God has laid upon my heart to share with you then.
