“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.”
Hello everyone! Happy Sunday and welcome today, to Sunday Inspiration…thru the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad that you were able to stop by today for a visit and my prayer for you; is that you will find a new piece of hope to take with you, when you leave the site!
You know…it’s hard to believe that Christmas is only a week from tomorrow! I’m sure that many of us are getting excited, as we all prepare to celebrate Jesus’ birthday; but one thing that I have already been reminded of…that truly has made this Christmas very special for me; is just knowing that Jesus not only came into this world as a babe; but He also came into this world…to change the world and bring hope to us.
We must realize today; that following Jesus isn’t always an easy task…just like it wasn’t easy for Mary and Joseph…and even Jesus Himself! Anyone who chooses to follow Jesus is always going to face the opposition, which is Satan; but the hope that I have come to take hold of…is knowing that Jesus’ birth has changed everything…so we no longer have to walk a darkened path, to a pit of total defeat. Praise Him for that!!
You know…it’s so easy to read the Nativity story in the Bible and see it as a beautiful story…which it is; but if we were to look deeper into this story; then we would come to see that the journey that Mary and Joseph took was never easy. In fact, I’m sure that many obstacles entered their path…just to keep Jesus’ birth from taking place.
I have come to see that God had a great plan for His Son’s birth and even though Mary…Joseph and baby Jesus went thru some very trying times; God was there all along, to walk them thru these darkened moments of their journey, into the true plan He had for their lives. Now if God did that for them…so He could change this world and bring hope…forgiveness and salvation to all mankind; then why wouldn’t He ever take the time, to walk us thru our own darkened moments of circumstance…so He could bring about better things within our lives too?
God is reminding me right now; that our love for Him may take us down some very hard and narrow paths; but just as He allowed His Son’s birth to take place, in the midst of a difficult journey; God will also bless us and crown the efforts we put forth, with His success, as His plan is made complete…in and thru us.
In Luke 1:30, of our Bible reading…it says… “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.” When the angel said those words to Mary; it was as though he was saying to Mary that God had not only chosen her, to carry out His plan; but He had also found favour in her. In other words…God knew that Mary had what it would take, to endure what was ahead of her. We must remember that no matter what path God allows us to walk down…He never allows us to go down that path, unless He knows first that we can walk thru it safely with Him.
Let’s face it…this world isn’t getting better and the struggles seem to be increasing; but that is when we are either going to turn to God and allow Him to walk us through these times or not.
Even though the journey that Mary and Joseph took wasn’t an easy one…much was accomplished…not only thru Jesus’ birth but thru a death that would forever bring hope to the world…a hope that could truly walk us away from the darkened paths that Satan would attempt to walk us down.
No matter what you may be facing today; just know that God would not allow you to walk this difficult path, if first; He didn’t feel that you could make it with Him. Turn to a God, who not only has brought hope to you…thru the birth of His Son, Jesus Christ…but a God who will do the same for you, as He did for Mary and Joseph on that first Christmas…many years ago; a Christmas that would change this world forever.
Blessings on your Sunday!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
