“But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, 12 And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him. 14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” John 20:11-17
Hello everyone! Happy Resurrection Day…and a big welcome, to the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad that you stopped by today and my prayer for all of us; is that we will truly experience the powerful presence of Jesus…One who is no longer dead; but is very much alive!!
As we begin today, I would like to ask you a question. Have you ever experienced Jesus in your life…in a way that turned your life around completely and allowed you to see Him, in a way that you had never seen Him before? Well…this is exactly what happened to Mary Magdalene, as she approached the tomb. Can you even begin to imagine what Mary must have felt that day, as she entered the tomb…to see that Jesus was no longer there? I’m sure that all kinds of thoughts raced through her mind...even thoughts…as to where someone may have taken him. As panic set in and tears began to fall…Jesus approached Mary and even though she wasn’t able to touch Him…the evidence was standing before her, as she saw the scars on His hands and feet. This short time with Jesus must have become deeply embedded within her heart and I’m sure that she was never the same, after experiencing these precious moments with Him!
As I look back on my own life, I can tell you exactly…the specific moment, as to when Jesus had touched my life…in a way that changed me forever and that was at a time, when I was at my lowest, while going through counseling, for a past sexual abuse.
At that time, I remember sitting on my bed…crying, until there were no more tears to cry and as I looked off to the side…from where I was sitting; I saw my Bible sitting not too far from me on the bed. As I picked it up and opened it…this is the verse that stood before me… “The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking…” Psalm 34:18a One thing that I can truly say to you today; is that my tears definitely drew Jesus to my side and from that moment on…I was never the same again!
Can you truly say that Jesus is alive? Not just alive; but alive within you? Is there a relationship between Him and you that is like no other? When you’re hurting and you feel as if all hope is gone; do you know that He is close by…to love and care for you; at a time, when you just can’t care for yourself?
One thing we must realize today; is that religion will never save us…love us or even care for us; for only Jesus can do that and when we are willing to fall powerless…before a powerful God; that is when we will rise together with Him…and that is where a new life will begin!
No matter what you’re facing today; don’t muddle through your problems alone…suffering needlessly; but rather, let go of everything…and I KNOW that Jesus will come to you, as each tear falls from within…and life for you, will never be the same again!
Blessings so much on your Sunday!

Hello everyone…and a big welcome to Sunday Inspiration…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad that you stopped by for a visit today and my prayer for all of us; is that we will truly experience an eye opening moment with God today…one that will really help us to see our trials in a much different light!
You know…how many times do we become so caught up in the problems that stand before us; that we completely miss out, on the new things that could be discovered, during what we see as the most difficult times in our lives? As I look back, to about 20 years ago; I remember some moments, when I was so caught up in the symptoms of my problems and all that was going on around me at the time; that I never knew that anything good could ever come out of these difficult and overwhelming moments. All I was concerned about at the time…was coming out of the problems for good and moving on with my life; but that didn’t happen, for quite some time…because you see…God had some things that He was longing to teach me and I just wasn’t teachable at the time. Instead of allowing God to use these difficult moments in my life…I allowed them to abuse me and make my life miserable…that is, until I was willing to view my problems through God’s eyes, rather than my own.
As I was listening to our song for the week…“Thankful for the Storm;” God began to remind me, as to how each moment of trial serves a purpose that only He knows at the time…and one purpose these difficult moments teach us; is how to see life in a better way…one that can change our hearts and allow us to be thankful for what is happening, rather than living with a heart of complaint.
Before we continue on…I would like to share some of the lyrics, from this beautiful song… “Thankful for the Storm”…and they go like this… “But I wouldn’t know your peace without the hard times…or be thankful for relief without the pain. I wouldn’t love the light, if it wasn’t for the darkness…or appreciate the sun without the rain. How could I understand forgiveness without failure…or feel the warmth of love, without the bitter cold. How could I hold your healing hand without affliction…and be blessed to see your mercies all unfold. Sure it’s a blessing, to be safe, secure and warm; but Lord I want to thank you for the storm.”
You know what? We will never see our trials in this way, until we are willing to allow God to show them to us in this way. When we can see and even experience the good that can come from each difficult trial in our lives; then this alone will cause us to praise God…even in the midst of the very worst.
Lately, I have been experiencing a lot of pain in my body, due to a multitude of problems…stemming from two bad legs that weren’t formed right at birth…and I have to be honest with you…even after all these years, it is still a struggle at times, to see the good through all the pain; but I have found that when I thank God for the pain, rather than beg Him for His help…or be disappointed, when He doesn’t remove the pain altogether…I do find relief and I feel it’s because a thankful heart becomes a message to God; that says… “I may be hurting right now; but I want to thank you for these moments because I wouldn’t have grown in you and appreciated the good times, without these tough times first.
You know…when a child gets everything they want and they never learn what it’s like to hear the word “No;” then they tend to grow up and not see and experience life, in the way a child would… who has learned through loss…which only makes it much more difficult, as the child grows into an adult. Even though God’s timing may seem to be a firm “no”…maybe it’s because He wants us to see and experience something new through the trial…and from my own experience; it’s better to listen to God and follow His lead, rather than suffer needlessly.
No matter what we’re facing today…and no matter how long we have endured these difficult times; we need to look for the good that can be seen through these bad moments and I’m sure that once we do…our eyes will be opened, to a brand new view of the trial…a view that will cause us to truly be thankful for the storm!
Blessings so much on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
“Praise be to the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” I Peter 1:3
“But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.” Psalm 39:7
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
Hello everyone…and a big welcome to Sunday Inspiration…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad to have you with me today and if you are here…looking for a piece of hope to hold to; I pray that this will be the moment, when you find that hope you need!
You know…we can experience moments in our lives, when we just can’t seem to find any kind of hope to hold to. At a time, when we need God the most; the questions begin to come, as we cry out to God and say… “Where are you?” The trials we experience can make us feel as if we are in the midst of troubled waters…as thoughts begin to convince us; that we are about to go down, for the last time.
Today, I would like to throw out four lifelines of hope to you…hope that is already available to you; at a time, when you need it the most. The first lifeline of hope came through the cross…a time, when Jesus’ great love and mercy offered us a life of new birth and new beginnings…a time, when we could begin anew. You see…even as Jesus paid the price and offered us a new life through His death on the cross; there was also another important part to His suffering and death and that was the resurrection…when everything was finalized and made new again…a time when hope came back into existence. As we go through our own moments of suffering, we don’t have to remain in bondage anymore; but instead, we have the hope that through Jesus death and resurrection; we too can once more rise above despair and be made new.
The second lifeline of hope that I would like to offer you today; is a hope that can be found, through God alone. How is it that we worry, fret and doubt a God, who already has everything under control? In fact, He knows more about what is going on in our lives; then we could ever begin to imagine. Actually, if we were to slow down and think this through, we would come to see that this lifeline of hope can definitely keep us above the troubled waters…just knowing that God will never allow us to be swallowed up, within these moments of despair. You know…sometimes, we just need to quit looking at the troubled waters that surround us and experience a settled feeling within our minds and hearts; knowing for sure that God will never fail us…but will always be there to care for us…in the same way that He loves us. Remember one thing today…moments of suffering don’t come from God…they only come from evil and even though there may be times, when God allows these moments to enter our lives…for a reason we may not always understand…He still has control over every little thing that pertains to us.
Ok…let’s move on to the third lifeline of hope that I would like to offer you today, which is hope for a better future. We must remember that whatever God allows within our lives…these moments are only being allowed, as a means of bringing about something better; otherwise, God wouldn’t allow these difficult moments in the first place. As I look back on my own life, I see how each difficult moment became a stepping stone; that God used to lead me, to where I am today. Like the saying goes…“Sometimes we have to experience pain, before experiencing gain.” In other words…these painful moments we experience aren’t meant to torture us; but to break us down, to the level that God longs for us to be in life. Once we reach His level; we will once more see how God is working to give us a better future and a greater hope.
As I look back on the 3 lifelines of hope that God has already offered us…I see these lifelines, as a means of sustaining us and keeping us afloat, until the final lifeline of hope comes and frees us once and for all…and that lifeline of hope is Heaven.
For those of us who have truly believed and accepted Jesus into our hearts and into our lives…a day will come, when we won’t have to stay afloat any longer; but rather, we can take hold of a lifeline that will pull us out of these waters and take us to a place, where we won’t have to experience the troubled waters anymore.
If you would like to experience a lifeline of eternal hope and you haven’t come to accept Jesus into your heart and life; then please pray this prayer with me… “Lord Jesus…I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died to free me from sin and despair. Come into my heart and be the lifeline of hope that I so desperately need. Thank you Jesus, for coming into my heart…and until you return for me…please be the lifeline of hope that can keep me above the troubled waters in my life…Amen!
As we close, I pray that each of these lifelines of hope…that has been offered to you today, will sustain you through these troubled times and will help you to rise above the troubled waters, rather than falling beneath them!
Blessings so much on your Sunday!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”
“He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.” Isaiah 40:11
“In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.” Isaiah 63:9
Hello everyone…and a big welcome today, to Sunday Inspiration…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I pray that you have been enjoying your weekend and I pray most of all; that you will truly come to see today, how Jesus longs to carry you through the difficult moments in your life!
What does it really mean to be carried in the arms of Jesus? We know that we can’t actually experience His presence in a human form; but there is a way that we can experience His loving arms around us and this is what we are going to talk about today.
I remember a time in my own life, when I was going through counseling for sexual abuse, which I had experienced at a young age of 5 years old. It seemed as though every time I went to group counseling…more and more of the memory came to the surface…to the place, where it started to make me feel, as if someone was pouring salt on an open wound.
One day, after returning home from counseling, I was so upset that I went quickly into my bedroom…wrapped my arms around the bedpost and cried, to the very depth of my being. After there were no more tears to cry, I took hold of a Bible that happened to be sitting near me on the bed and after opening it…my eyes looked directly down, to a Bible verse in Psalm 34:18a, which reads… “The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking…” Immediately, I began to look around the room and even out the doorway of the bedroom; because for some reason, I just knew that God was in that room with me.
As I continued to read the Bible verse in Psalm 34:18a…over and over again, I started to talk with God and open up to Him about my deep heartache and pain…and from there, I began to tell Him that I just couldn’t take any more of this horrible memory and that I just wanted to give up. I would say that within a few minutes, I began to feel as if there were arms around me…arms that were comforting me, through what I saw, as the very worst of times… and no matter what anybody says, I’m sure that those arms of love belonged to God…because you see; He is the one, who took me into His arms and carried me gently, to where I am today.
I truly believe…with all my heart; that there is a God, who will carry us through the moments, when we just feel as though we have come to the end of our rope…and I truly believe that this God is drawn to the brokenness of our lives; but first, we need to come to a place, where we fall down… powerless before Him. Once God sees where we have fallen along the wayside; that is when He will come and lift us up, into arms of love and sustainment…arms that will hold us close and shelter us, until He has completely walked us through these difficult moments.
You know…I don’t think that some people have ever experienced God in a very real way because they are trying to stay tough on their own…and when a person remains tough on their own; then they are actually saying to God… “I don’t need your help…I’m just fine”…when all along, they are barely standing on their own.
Today…maybe it’s time to fall powerless into the arms of God and let Him carry you through the hard times. Maybe it’s time to just quit hanging on, to what you can’t fix on your own. You know…you can only be strong so long…so take a deep breath and let go…and don’t worry…because when you fall beneath the moments of pain and heartache…there will be arms of love…waiting to catch you.
Quite a while back, I had written a poem, titled “Wings of Love,” and here are a few of the words that came from this beautiful God inspired poem… “There was pain in my body and mind, as each trial came to overtake all; Oh God, when is this going to stop…these trials are too much…I fear I am going to fall. It was just at that moment that I had begun to fall; that I felt a presence so peaceful…so majestic and tall. I saw His wings beneath me, bringing peace and so much love; they were purer, brighter and stronger, then the fairest morning dove. At just the right time…His wings caught me, as He drew me to His side; rescuing me from my trials…creating a refuge for me to hide. It was at that very moment, when He had heard my despairing cry; that His Spirit read my heart…knowing that the load was too great to bear; He came with His wings of love…placing my heavy load upon Him and replacing it with His loving care.” Today, may I encourage you, to trust God enough…to carry you through the difficult moments in your life!
Blessings on your day!
