“And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. (36) And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. (37) And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. (38) And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? (39) And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. (40) And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? (41) And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” Mark 4:35-41
Hello everyone and welcome today, to Sunday Inspiration! Whether you need a place to connect with God this Sunday or just a little inspiration…my prayer is that you will find what you are seeking for and that God will truly wrap His loving arms around you, as you read the words that He has given us all today!
You know…one thing that I was reminded of this week; is that God views the storms we go through, in a completely different way; then what we see them. We can be looking into dark clouds, with tears raining down all around us and feel as if the storm is going to overtake us…just like the disciples thought, while the storm raged all around their boat; but while we are viewing a storm in this way…God has a whole new view on the storm.
We must remember that God completely understands all about the storms that He allows within our lives. In other words…maybe the storm is to test our faith, just like the disciples were being tested or maybe the storms we face are meant for us to learn how to lean on God more, rather than ourselves. No matter what the reason for the storm; God not only knows how He’s going to use the storm; but He’s also got control over the storm and will allow the storm to pass on, once He has accomplished His will for that specific moment in our lives.
When we are willing to look beyond the dark clouds and rain…for God’s presence in the storm; then a rainbow of hope will stand before us…a rainbow that says that even though the storm hasn’t come to an end…a time will come, when God will calm the troubled seas around us.
I remember a time in my life, when I felt as though I was on a very troubled sea. The clouds were so dark; that they had blackened the sky around me and I began to see myself floating on a piece of wood, in the midst of this troubled sea. As I cried out to God; it was as if I could feel His presence walking on those troubled waters, to where I was. That particular storm in my life didn’t cease for some time; but through it all, I knew that God was there…riding out the storm with me and once that storm in my life became calm; I then found myself walking on a new path…a path that has led me, to where I am with God today.
You see…God has a reason for every storm we go through. It’s not always easy for us to understand or even see these storms, in the way He’s viewing them; but a time will come, when He will stand up in the midst of our storm and will say… “Peace be still;” so don’t ever give up on God because once He has completed His work…through the storm that He has allowed within your life; He will cause the troubled waters to cease and will walk you onto a new path…a path that He longs for you to follow.
Blessings on your Sunday!
