“But when the Father sends the Comforter instead of me—and by the Comforter I mean the Holy Spirit—he will teach you much, as well as remind you of everything I myself have told you. (27) “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:26-27
Hello everyone and welcome today, to Sunday Inspiration! I am so happy to have you with me today and I pray that God’s words will become healing words to all of us…words that can penetrate the moments of darkness that we may be walking through; that we might experience the true light of God’s presence…deep within the heart and soul!
You know…so many times, we think about peace coming after a storm, when the winds have calmed down and the sky begins to clear; but I have come to see and experience a peace that can enter the midst of any stormy circumstance and bring relief.
I remember an evening…after a long day of work…and if I remember right, I had been experiencing a lot that day…including some pain. After finishing my work in the office, I decided to turn the lights down and lay back on the daybed and just talk with God and pour my heart out to Him. As I began to share my thoughts with Him, I started to ask Him to give me peace, so I could rest for the night and as I laid there…thinking about His perfect peace; it was as if He had stepped into those tired and worn out moments and began to sprinkle His peace all around me. The moments that once brought overwhelming thoughts and distress, had now become quiet moments that would make anyone think that nothing had ever gone wrong.
You know...just because we are going through some very difficult times; doesn’t mean that God can’t step into those moments and sustain us with His perfect and loving peace. To me, this is God’s way of saying…if I have to allow you to go through these moments for a specific reason; then I will go through it with you and hold you close to me, until the storm has passed.
How many times are we going to choose to suffer with the circumstance, before we turn to a God, who is already standing before us, with arms opened wide…just longing to shelter us from the fiercest moments of the storm? You know…just because God allows us to go through these difficult times in our lives; doesn’t mean that He wants to walk away and leave us hopelessly lost within the storm.
Are you standing in the midst of a storm today? Cry out to God right now and I know that peace will begin to overtake the storm within your life, as God walks quietly into the moments that have seemed so overwhelming and out of control.
Do we realize today; that when the most perfect being enters moments that have been brought about, by an evil storm; that His love alone is more than able to take the form of peace…peace that can calm any raging storm within us.
No matter what you are facing today, just know that there is a peace that can enter the storm in your life and bring lasting relief…peace that can control the troubled seas around you and make it easier to whether the storms your facing. Just call out to the Master of the Sea and even if this time of testing hasn’t found its end…God will control the storm and help you through a time in your life; that had at one time made you feel lost within a stormy circumstance.
Blessings on our Sunday!
