Sustaining Peace...

5/4/2018

Bible readings...
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. 7 If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello everyone…and a big welcome today, to Sunday Inspiration, through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so happy to have you with me today and my prayer is that God will work with our hearts…in a way that will help us to see; what He can truly be for us, while walking through difficult times of trial!

You know…we may face trials in our lives that don’t always go away…at a time, when we would like them to; but I have come to see that there is a way to get through them and remain standing through it all.

I remember a time, when I had been through a very rough day. It was all I could do, to keep the tears from flowing and as I prepared to go to sleep that night…I stretched out on the bed and began to tell God about every little thing in my day. I knew that God could handle it because we had been best friends for a long time and I saw how He had become my peace and my strength through several years of my life…at a time when I thought that I was not going to make it.

Anyways…as I poured my heart out before God…we began to have the best time ever and as I went from one thing to another; it seemed as though each burden, was now being transferred from my shoulders to His.

After our time together, I prayed for God’s perfect peace to enter my night because you see God’s peace is an ongoing peace. It’s not temporal like the world’s so-called peace. In this world we live in, we tend to use food…material things, etc…to bring peace and happiness, to our broken hearts; but I have found that once the newness wears off or the food is eaten…the problem once more stands before us, as Satan picks up, from where he left off…to use these moments of weakness…to once more bring us low.

Anyways…once I had asked for God’s perfect peace…I turned out the light and began to lie back on my pillow…just thinking about the time that I had just spent with God. As I closed my eyes…in my mind’s eye, it was as though God was holding a watering can above my head, while little droplets of peace began to fall down around me. Instantly, I began to feel a calmness come over me, as the problems of the day began to leave, like the waves of the sea. Before I knew it…I had fallen asleep, and was now waking up to a brand new day…filled with a better outlook on life; then what I had felt the night before.

You know…I have come to see that we do not have to face the hard and heavy blows, of a circumstance alone. God knew that we would go through these very overwhelming times in our lives; so He gave us a gift to hold onto…a gift of peace…something that would help us to spiritually and emotionally get through the difficult times; that were meant by evil, to bring us down…but do you know what? So many times, we choose to tough it out alone…only to find ourselves drained and fallen along the wayside.

Today, we need to get alone with God…pour ourselves out before Him and then wait quietly in His presence and as He sees the hurt and the deep desire we have within our hearts, to experience His loving touch…a still small voice will walk into our spirits and say… “Peace be still!”…and His peace will begin to calm the troubled storm within us...in a way that we have never known before…a way that will truly help us to experience His endless love.

No matter what you’re facing today…and no matter how long these difficult times have been with you…you don’t have to hurt alone, when there is a God, who can step into these difficult moments and bring peace. Take some time…get alone with God and open your heart up to Him…and a connection will begin to take place between His heart and yours…a connection that will allow Him to be the sustaining peace you need, until the storm has completely passed by.
Blessings so much on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
