Walking in Sync with God - Part Two Devotions to Produce Spiritual Growth
with Diane K Hiltz Chamberlain
Do we truly know God or do we only know of Him, by what we have read in His word? Has God’s word only become a novel that we read from time to time or do we see God’s word as something that becomes a powerful tool within our lives…a book that is like no other? When we truly come to acknowledge and live the power that comes forth from His word and His presence; that is when we will begin to see a power enter our lives…a power that we have never experienced before.
Today, I would like to share a very powerful Bible verse with you; that God led me to and it’s found in Deuteronomy 9:3 and we read… “But be assured today that the Lord your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire. He will destroy them; he will subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the Lord has promised you.”
Are we so busy accepting our problems, while dwelling on every symptom of the problem; that we have pushed God out, while we continue to make everything work on our own? Why do we do this, when we know that we do not have the power within ourselves alone, to overcome these difficult moments in our lives? Do we realize that we are just a shell of a person, until God moves in? Do we realize that we cannot even make our own muscles function or we can’t even find the breath we need to survive, without His presence continually replenishing us, with these things we need?
When a problem stands before us…how are we coping? Are we saying…“Well…this is the way it is?” If we are…then we have turned the control stick of this problem, completely over into the hand of Satan. We must remember; that when we are willing to allow the most powerful God to lead the way; then His power will go before us like a fire and will be seen and known, in a very real way and His power alone, will bring evil to its knees.
The questions we need to ask ourselves today is this… “Do we truly believe that God is a powerful God? Can we honestly answer this question and know that nothing that enters our lives is too big for God to handle? Until we truly come to understand His power, we will never fully understand all He can do for us and while we are limiting His power; we will also continue to suffer in a needless way.
