Risen Hope Ministries | What are you feeling? | Weariness

Weariness | What are you feeling? | with Diane K Chamberlain

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

"Come to me and I will give you rest—all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. Wear my yoke—for it fits perfectly—and let me teach you; for I am gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls; for I give you only light burdens.” Matthew 11:28-30

Sometimes, when we have to wait for God to work, we can grow weary. Every negative moment that stands before us can continue to remind us; that we aren't heading anywhere but down and through time, this can make us want to give up. This is not the time to throw in the towel and quit but rather, this is the time, when we should allow these moments to renew our strength and make us better equipped as Christians. We need to stand tall, in the strength of a God that can allow us to walk and not faint...a God that can mount us up with a strength; that can allow us to rise above these moments of despair, rather than trying to lean on a weak crutch of problems that is about to give way.

When we come to see that we do not have to bear these burdens alone; then we will be able to turn away from the wearisome problems that are weighing us down; to find rest, in a God that can renew our spirits and as He does this, we will find that He is more than capable of exchanging our heavy burden for a lighter one, while He places the weight of our burdens upon Himself.
