A Strength that is Greater than Weakness | Diane K Hiltz Chamberlain

​Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Labor Day to you all! I don’t know about where you live; but we are receiving a break from the heat today, which has truly been a blessing to my heart, health and my very soul…so I truly praise God from the bottom of my heart…for all that He has done for me today…Amen!!
One thing I can tell you, as we begin our time together; is that my health hasn’t changed. The pain remains to a certain degree…and the tiredness seems to have become a part of my life; but one thing I know for sure…is that we do not have to wait for these storms to end…before experiencing the hand of God upon our lives and upon our day.
The other day, while spending some time with God, I was reminded as to how we can truly experience the power and almighty hand of God at work within our lives, even in the midst of what seems to be a never ending circumstance. In other words…it’s not about what we are facing at the time; but rather, it’s about the One who can take us above these trying moments…to experience something that truly reminds us that His power is greater than what we may be facing at the moment.
Yesterday afternoon…after resting for a couple of hours, I found myself sitting with Keith in the living room…and as I looked around the room, I began to truly see how much I have experienced the hand of God upon my life, while recently redecorating this room a bit. You see…when I look at the picture frames that were remade with fabric and paint…and when I see the new shelves on the wall; I see a time, when the pain in my legs could barely stand to do what they were doing at the time. Even though I experienced those difficult moments of pain; I also experienced the hand of God upon those moments, as I did what seemed to be the impossible at the time. In other words…God was taking me above my own weakness…to experience a strength that could cause me to truly rise above despair and finish what I so longed to do.
How many times do we see the weak moments in our lives, as an opportunity to experience the awesome hand of God upon us? Don’t we realize that when we get caught up in our circumstances, instead of seeing what God can truly do through these hard times; that we only end up allowing the circumstance to control our lives, while experiencing even more of the hand of evil upon us?
A Bible verse that has opened my eyes and helped me to see the disabilities I face in a different light; is found in 2 Corinthians 12: 9 and we read… “But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.”
There are many days, when I long to cook and do the things I love to do; but I have to admit that the pain and tiredness tends to give me a different view…one that only reveals hard times and struggles; but when I read this Bible verse; then I’m reminded that it’s during these moments of weakness; that we truly do experience the hand of God upon us…for I have come to see that God can take us to a different realm…one that seems to lift us above the moments that appear to be spelling out defeat. I may have moments, when I struggle to see something coming together in a good way…a way that helps me to enjoy life; but no matter how impossible life may seem at the time; I can say that there is a greater power there for us…One that can give us that boost we need, to succeed and keep pressing on in life.
No matter what you may be facing right now…and no matter how grim the situation may appear to be…just know that these are the times, when we truly do experience the hand of God the most…for it’s only through weakness; that we gain a greater strength…one that can carry us from a place of impossibility…to a place where all things truly do become possible through Him…Amen!!
