August 23, 2019 | Good evening...

Good evening everyone! It's so good to be back with you tonight...and I hope that you had a great Friday! Mine has been a mixed bag of everything...from cleaning...to writing...and working on a new webpage. Whew...no wonder I'm feeling tired tonight...lol!
Anyways...as we close another day...and another work week; isn't it good to know that God's presence is with us...wherever we go! I remember times in the past, when I would go to bed, with every negative thought and feeling from the day. Now I turn to the One, whose presence can help me to overcome the day and give me rest.
Last night...just before going to bed, I was feeling a little ill, from a lot of pain...pain that even spilled over into the evening hour. As I quickly made my way to the bed...so I could get off the legs that were alerting me to pain...I began to quietly talk with God and share everything that was on my mind with Him. After turning the light out...I laid back and was looking at the trees...lit up, in the light of our yard. As I lay there...I began to focus on heaven...and what it will be like to live in a place, where there is no pain...no tiredness...or any other struggle. As I continued on, with the conversation I was having with God, before the light went out...I found myself drifting asleep...and those were the moments that led me quietly into another new day.
You know...it can be so easy to take hold of the things of the day...like a security blanket. It seems like we always have to be on top of where these moments are leading us and what could possibly happen next; but when you think about it...we are only pushing out the presence of a God, who longs to be there for us and give us rest, during these overwhelming times. 
One thing I've come to see for sure; is that connecting to God in the night hour...or any other hour, can truly bring peace...and a connection that keeps us distant from worry and other unsettled feelings. 
No matter what kind of a day you've had...or no matter what you are facing; just know that God is there for you...and He longs so much to be there for you...to comfort and bring a peace that can lead you to sweet rest. 
Tonight, I pray that we will take our attention away from the things that are keeping us lost and overwhelmed with life; that we might turn to a God who can lead us beside still waters and bring a peace that can calm any troubled moment from the day!
May your night be truly surrounded by the presence of God...and may you feel the perfect peace; that comes from a perfect and loving God!
