Friday...Dec. 27, 2019 | Resting under God's almighty wings

12/27/2019

Good evening everyone…and how was your Friday? I hope it was a good day! My day was kind of busy but one thing I took the time to do, was carve and freeze some meat. You’re probably wondering what I’ve been up to…so let me tell you what I’m talking about. To begin with…I was blessed with 2 free turkeys this year. Around Thanksgiving…the store had a special…and if you spent $100 for your groceries…then you automatically got a free turkey…and any size too, which was a really good deal.
Anyways…we ended up with two free turkeys; so Keith and I ate on one of them for Thanksgiving and then we saved the other for Christmas. Plus…on top of the turkey, I had bought a small ham. Since it was only Keith and I this Christmas…I had a plan…and that was to cook turkey and ham and then put a lot of leftovers in the freezer, which would help me tremendously, in the days to come. See…now that’s how a person with a bad leg tends to think…plus, I’m sure that God helped me with the idea…so now, I have quite a few packages of frozen turkey and ham, which is going to help me a lot later.
After all the work of carving both pieces of meat…on top of everything else today, I decided to get a shower and just put my feet up again. As I was getting around for the evening…God led me to a song that I hadn’t listened to in quite some time and it’s titled…“Under His Wings.” As I was listening to the song on YouTube, just a little bit ago…God also led me to a Bible verse in Psalm 91:4, which reads… “He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” What a great verse to read…especially as another day is coming to a close. Just think…no matter what has taken place in our day; we can find refuge, under God’s almighty wings…a place, where we can be renewed in the presence of God.
There have been many nights, when my health hasn’t been that good. Sometimes the pain gets persistent…or maybe it’s just been a long and draining day. No matter what has taken place…I get as comfortable in bed as I can; then I ask God to cover me with His almighty wings of love…and you know what…I’m asleep in no time…and I know that as long as I am under His wings…I will be safely protected, as I rest throughout the night.
Maybe you have also had a busy day…or maybe you got some bad news…or maybe your health isn’t good this evening. No matter what it may be…get comfortable tonight and ask God to cover you with His loving wings. One thing I know…His presence will become a comforter…to keep you safe and warm; that you may rest in His loving arms, as He renews you for another new day.
As God slowly pulls the shades down to another day…I pray that you will find yourself sheltered within His almighty and loving wings…and I pray that all the cares of the day will be gone; that your mind and heart may be renewed, for another new day!
Well…a busy day is behind me…and now, I’m going to enjoy an easy dinner and some rest! Please take and I will hope to be with you again tomorrow.
Goodnight & God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
