A day can make a person feel as if nothing will change. The darkness can be so convincing…to the place, where we give up on the light ever shining again; but then a moment comes, when the light of God’s presence breaks through the dense fog and darkness of despair…walking us once more away from the moments that made us feel so hopeless and alone.
For several days, the darkness of affliction had surrounded me…giving me a feeling, as if I would only continue to walk in darkness; but this evening, I am experiencing a new dawn…even before morning arrives; for God’s presence is everywhere around me…shining through the trees…in a way that is giving me a new look on life and all that I have been facing. Today has been a day like no other and it all started out, by inviting Jesus into my day. I made it known that the works of darkness was not welcome…only the best friend that I have ever known. As I left my office, to attend to other things around the house, I took Jesus with me…and from there; we walked the path together all day long. The world that once seemed upside down and twisted with despair, was now shining brightly, as each moment fell into place like a puzzle. Oh the hope I experienced today…and even when darkness attempted to creep in and steel this new joy that I just recently found…Jesus was there to guard and guide me safely away from darkness…and why…because I had taken Him by the hand, since a very early hour in my morning. You see…I have come to realize that when we invite Jesus into our day; then no matter what attempts to take us down throughout the day; Jesus will always be close by, to keep us lifted up and close to Him. Moments of despair can make us feel as if we have entered unknown territory…and when Jesus isn’t close by; then this is when we become wounded prey to evil. Times may take us through territory that seems abandoned and barren; but when Jesus is walking beside us; there’s a light that tends to brighten the moments that attempt to lead us further into this unknown territory of despair. No matter what we face…and no matter how dark and lonely life may seem; there is someone who can brighten the darkness and be the friend we need, during times like these…and I have come to see that experiencing moments such as these can come easily, when we are willing to take a minute or two, to invite Jesus into our day. Remember…Jesus is there for you too! He’s not hiding and He has not abandoned you…He’s just waiting for an invite into your life and into your day. Have a nice day & God bless! It’s Always & Only Because of Him… Diane Comments are closed.
