Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Sunday to you all! I pray that your day is off to a great start…and even more, I pray that we won’t allow ourselves to suffer needlessly, through the trials of this life; but that we will run to God and seek Him with all our hearts…Amen!!
The other night, I was talking with Keith in my office and we were talking on “surface seekers”…in other words…people who tend to only go so far, as to seek God for His help, while facing a difficult time in their life…and as I responded to something Keith had said; this is what came out of my mouth… “If we would only choose to go deeper with God; then we would be less likely to go deeper with the problem.” Wow…what an eye opening thought! You know…there was a time in my life, when I was a “surface seeker.” In other words…I would only seek God one time, rather than continually seeking Him with all my heart…and the moments when I reacted to a problem in this way…actually became the moments, when I would find myself easily giving into the problem, which only made matters worse. Today, I would like to share a couple Bible verses with you; that God has used in my life, to help me seek Him even more…and they are found in Matthew 7:7-8…and we read… “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” How many of us have truly taken the time to talk with God and seek Him, with the very depth of our being…as to the answer or remedy that could truly help us, during these difficult times in our lives? Sometimes, I think that instead of diving deep with God…to find the treasure in His word that could help us; we tend to find ourselves as “surface seekers”…but the only thing bad about that; is that we only see what we could have, rather than truly taking hold of the treasure and enjoying the blessing that could come from it. The one time in my life that truly taught me to seek deep with God…especially through His word, was when I was going through counseling and deep depression. As God began to lead me to verses in His word that could truly help and encourage me; that is when I took hold of His word and made it my “survival manual”. For each verse that truly hit the chords of my heart…I found myself seeking even deeper between the words and sentences of each verse, as I began to take the Bible apart and use it as a tool, to help me through the difficult times. The more I learned…the more I sought God’s word, for the hidden treasures that could truly become the remedy I needed, for my hurting heart and soul. As I look back to those times…I not only found the remedy, to what was ailing me; but I also came to see that these moments in God’s word, also took me away from the muck and mire of my despair…to experience something that could change my life forever, which drew me even closer to God. Today, can you say that you are seeking God, with the very depth of your being…for the answers you so desperately need right now…or are you only “surface seeking”? One thing I know for sure; is that when we ask for God’s help, rather than assume He already knows; that is when His response to our need will be given, in the way He desires….and when we choose to seek God’s word, for the answer to a problem…with every part of our being; that is when we will find what we are looking for…this I know! Also, when we choose to never give up; but rather keep knocking…a time will come, when God will open it up to us; so keep asking…seeking and knocking and never give into what is standing before you; because God already has the answer to your problem. He’s just waiting for us to ask Him for it…Praise Him!! Well…it’s been another great time with you and God! Praise Him, for the wisdom and words of encouragement; that can truly become the remedy, to our hurting hearts and soul! I truly hope and pray that your Sunday will be a very special one! Take care and I will hope to be with you again tomorrow! Many…many blessings on your day! It’s Always & Only Because of Him… Diane Comments are closed.
