Wednesday...Dec. 18, 2019 | Walking beyond hatred...

Hello everyone…and how are you today? I truly hope and pray that your Wednesday is off to a good start! I’ve been up since about 5:00 this morning; so I’ve already made a pot of chili and tidied up the office, which has really been a good start to my day!
As I woke up this morning, I was thinking about our country and all the bad things that have recently taken place. It just amazes me, as to how hatred can grow into much more…and the distance it attempts to take us is even worse.
While spending some time with God this morning; He led me to a Bible verse in Proverbs 10:12, which says… “Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.” You know…when the sexual abuse from my past finally surfaced…I had so much anger and hatred for my grandfather. After all…he was someone that I should have looked up to, rather than dreaded being around.
Anyways…as I began to deal with the worst hurt; that I never thought I’d have to experience in my life…the hatred and anger became so strong that it made it even more difficult to overcome these memories of the past. You see…I was adding fuel to a fire that was already burning, by allowing my feelings to shift me in a wrong direction. I came to eventually see that if I was going to overcome the hurt of the past; then first, I was going to have to get in sync with God, rather than the feelings that stemmed from the past. Once I got back in alignment with God; that is when I finally began to move forward in the right direction and discover a healing.
You know…so many people base their own problems and hurts of the past on others who may be innocent. After a while, their feelings begin to rage out of control, until they not only continue to hurt themselves…but others too.
Today, we need to let go of hatred and allow God’s loving presence, to become a comforter of peace; that can sooth the heart and bring us to where we should be in life. Once we are willing to let God run the show…rather than the feelings that seem to be out of control; then that is when evil will truly be brought to its knees.
I don’t know about you…but today, I am praying for this great country called America…that hatred would be left along the wayside; that we may continue to have God’s loving and precious grace shed upon us…in the days to come. Will you join me? Will you lay your feelings along the wayside…and get in sync with a God, who has the power to do all things?
Well…time to begin my day! May God truly bless us all, during the hard and difficult times of life…and may evil become powerless, as it stands before a POWERFUL GOD…AMEN!!
