Hello everyone…and how is your Monday? I know for some, it can be very difficult to start out another new week, especially if a new week can seem like an instant replay from the previous week. Anyways…today, I thought that we would take some time together and look to God for a piece of hope that can help us all to get through the difficult times we sometimes face; and I pray that as we do this; that we will come to truly see how God can be there for us, at a time when we struggle to be there for ourselves…Amen!!
As some of you may already know, I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed with life lately, due to my busy schedule and some pretty overwhelming health issues; so, as I was feeling the blunt of this over the weekend, I decided to write on it; because I have been taught in the past that when we put our feelings down on paper; then this is a good way to release them and let go of what may be bothering us at the time, while bringing the works of darkness to light.
You know…I don't know what you may be experiencing right now; but lately it seems like most of my days have felt pretty much the same…with the same old things happening, which is usually a lot of work, pain, weakened legs and an exhausted body and mind. I will be the first to admit that there can be times, when I feel like just sitting along the wayside for a bit; but you know what…every time I think of doing that; something begins to nudge at my spirit and say "No…come back," which right now is reminding me of a couple Bible verses in Isaiah 30:20-21; so let us read them together... "And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner anymore, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: 21) And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." In other words, the Lord may allow us to go through sorrow and pain; but He will be our eyes, when we are overwhelmed with life and we can't see straight; and just think...if we wander off the path, He will be there to give us that little nudge we need, so we can keep going in the right direction, when we just don't feel like moving on.
You know…I think that as human beings, we feel the need to be tough and strong on our own. Maybe this is our way of saying to ourselves that there is nothing wrong, when there actually is a problem…or maybe we are just so tired of feeling the way we do…that we'd rather bypass everything altogether; but one thing that I discovered about 30 years ago; is that when we bury what may be bothering us…and when we try to live in an unreal world, where we have convinced ourselves that there are no problems; then this is when life actually gets worse. Yes, we should never focus so deeply on our problems, that we find ourselves buried with them; but at the same time…the only way we are going to walk out of the moments that make us feel as if we just may not be able to make it; is when we first admit everything before God.
Maybe today, you are also experiencing some very overwhelming moments…and it's gotten to the place where it's becoming more difficult to face another week…or even just one more day. Maybe it's time to get alone with God and let Him be your teacher, as you sit humbly before Him as His pupil…willing to admit that you can't make this situation work on your own anymore. I think that sometimes, we just need to fall before Him, so He can lift us back up…only this time, with Him leading the way.
No matter what we may go through in this life…and no matter who we are; we all can find it to be very difficult to stand up to these weakened areas of our lives; so today, I pray that we will find the strength through Christ, to let go of it all and fall before Him, while allowing Him to nudge us in a direction that will lead us further away from weakness…Amen!
Have a very blessed day…and I hope that you will come back tomorrow, and let God encourage your heart once more! God bless you so much!
