Hello everyone! Well, another new day begins; but for some it may not be as easy to face this new day. In this world that we are living in, it seems that as each day passes…more and more people are facing some very tough times.
As I sit here…preparing to celebrate a holy holiday, I think on those who have lost loved ones, due to the virus…along with others who have faced bad storms, tornados and other difficult times. These are the people I long to reach out to today…the ones who have been crushed in spirit; so, as we begin, I would like to share one of my very favorite Bible verses with you from John 14:18, which reads… "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." You know…some of us may feel today, as if our circumstances have brought us to a place where we feel abandoned and tossed to the side, which can truly make us feel alone…in a world of our own; but the hope that I want to give you today; is that even though we may feel abandoned by this world and the people around us; there is a God who will never abandon you or leave you as an orphan in the storm; but rather, He will come to you and be the One who can bring comfort and peace, while walking through these difficult times. Last night, as I was looking through some Bible verses; there was one verse that truly stood out to me and it's found in Psalm 18:28, and we read… "For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness." Moments when we feel alone and forsaken by others around us, doesn't mean that all hope is gone; for I know One who will step into your moment of darkness and despair and enlighten the darkness that surrounds you, so you can truly feel His comforting spirit. For several years now, my husband and I have chosen to not put up a Christmas tree or decorate in any way…or even have gifts. We have come to see that it's all about Jesus…not Keith and Diane. The reason why I say this today; is because there may be some of you out there who will not be able to celebrate Christmas in the way that you hoped for; but let me remind you that the greatest gift didn't come wrapped up in paper and bows; but the greatest gift came in a lowly manger…and He came into this world, to live out His Father's will…and show His greatest love for us on an old rugged cross. No matter what you are going through right now…and no matter how difficult of a time you may be facing, may I encourage you to not let these moments take you down; but instead, may I encourage you to let Jesus lift you up and comfort you during these times; for He has promised that He will always be there…no matter what is taking place in your life. I have truly come to see that when we allow Jesus into the moments that can make us feel so abandoned and alone; then He does come to enlighten these darkened moments and comfort us in a way that no other can. Lately, I have been listening to a song titled… "Every Time I Speak His Name" and today, I would like to share a verse of this song with you, and we read… "My heart can be so troubled, trembling with fear. Eyes closed tight, expecting to overflow with tears. If I could manage to whisper the Name above all Names, suddenly I am at peace and things aren't quite the same. It happens every time I speak His Name, my Spirit calms within me, I feel Him ease the pain. It's a mystery, I agree, I never could explain, but it happens every time I speak His Name" As we close our time together today, you may be feeling broken as you read this writing. Maybe something bad has taken place in your life at this time…to the place where it has made you feel lost and alone in life. May I encourage you to speak one simple word…"Jesus." One thing I have come to truly see is that it doesn't take a long and drawn-out prayer to get His attention…and once He hears His name spoken…from the depth of your brokenness; He will come and bring about a calm that will instantly make you feel at peace in His loving presence…a presence that will always remain with you and never allow you to feel abandoned and alone anymore. Today, I pray for each person out there who is broken in spirit…the one whose situation has made them feel abandoned and alone in life. I pray with all my heart that you will feel the loving arms of Jesus around you…holding you close and enlightening the darkened moments that have entered your life; that you may once more feel joy…and a hope that says that my God is with me…Amen!! Have a very blessed weekend…and I will look forward to another visit on Monday morning! God bless! It's Always & Only Because of Him… Diane *If you haven't yet accepted Jesus into your heart…and have found the hope that can rescue your heart and save you from evil, I would encourage you to check out… "Come to Jesus."
