Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Monday to you all! As we start out our time together today, I would like you to share in the celebration of 20 years of ministry work and God's faithfulness. It's hard to believe that all these years have passed! As I look back over the past 20 years, I remember times in my life when I never thought that I would walk beyond some of the most painful moments in my life…moments that I can't even begin to describe to you. All I know, is that there were times when I actually felt like I was walking through the pits of hell…and even to this day, I continue to walk through some very painful moments in my life; that God's words of encouragement may reach your hearts.
Over this past weekend, I was having some pretty bad bouts of pain and extreme tiredness, due to some chronic problems in my knees that stem from birth. I have to say that there were moments when the battle was raging pretty high within me and by Saturday night, I just couldn't begin to figure out what God was up to and why He was allowing so much at that time.
Finally, by Sunday afternoon, He began to open my heart up to a Bible verse in 2Timothy 2:13, which reads… "If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself." In other words, even when we are too weak to have any faith, he remains faithful to us and will help us, for He cannot disown us who are part of Himself, and he will always carry out His promises to us.
After reading this Bible verse, God began to take me back throughout the past years of my life and show me where He had truly been faithful. Then He began to remind me that even though He may allow some things to take place within my life…for a reason that only He knows; that doesn't mean that He will leave you or me there. You see…while we experience the hard and difficult times of life, it can be so easy to doubt God and believe that He could once more be faithful. It seems like we become so caught up and overwhelmed within the problem; that our minds can't even focus or remember the times when He has been faithful, which is truly the remedy we need for these present moments of pain and heartache.
Maybe today, you are also questioning God's faithfulness in your life. Maybe you have been going through a long and drawn-out problem, where you have just had enough. I know your pain; because I have experienced so much within my own life; but you know what…God will once more be faithful…and you ask me how I know this…because I have seen time and time again, as to how He has been faithful in my own life.
You know…some people think that serving God is easy…and oh, how they would love to do the same. Let me tell you one thing I have experienced over the past 20 years…and that has been one battle after another. You say… "Well Diane, you are a Christian and you are serving God…how can this be?" That is the reason right there; because you see, Satan wants to stop what I'm doing, so his weapons of warfare are pain and extreme tiredness. In other words, if he can take me down with pain and get me so extremely tired that I can't concentrate and write; then just maybe he can get me to either stop the writings or quit altogether. One thing we need to remember; is that even though Satan can come at us pretty hard; there is a God who is greater…One who has given me the strength and a clear mind, to dictate the words of encouragement that He longs to share from His heart to yours today…and I have come to see that He is a God who never fails at what He longs to accomplish…in your life and in mine.
As we close, my prayer today is that God's strength will help you to keep your mind on the moments when He has been faithful in your life; that you may continue to have hope for what you are facing at this time; that in the end, you may once more experience the hand of God's faithfulness within your life…Amen!
Have a very blessed day…and I will look forward to another visit with you tomorrow…God bless!
