Hello everyone…I hope that your day is going well! Right now, I'm enjoying some very quiet and peaceful moments alone with God, which is one of my very favorite things to do. When a person is very busy and lives with pain like I do from day to day, it seems like each peaceful thought and moment alone with God, truly becomes a gift from above!
As I've been sitting here this morning, I've been thinking as to how moments of darkness and despair can seem never ending to us. It seems as though moments such as these have a way of convincing us that we will never see the light of day again; and we can even feel as though these moments may overtake us and defeat us; but you know what, I have come to see that when we invite the most powerful light of God's presence to enter these overpowering moments of darkness; then the light of His presence brings the darkness to light, which actually defeats darkness (evil) in its tracks. You know…maybe today you are feeling locked up within a darkened moment of despair…and maybe you even feel so overwhelmed by what you are going through right now; that you have started to believe that this is all you will continue to experience in your life. May I encourage you, by sharing a Bible verse with you today, which is found in John 1:5, which reads… "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." One thing I want to say to you today; is that darkness or evil is definitely real…and it definitely has a way of making itself known, even to the place where it can attempt to make us believe that we will never escape these moments and be able to walk out of that darkness; but one thing that God has taught me, as I've walked down many darkened paths in my life; is that even though darkness (evil) can seem overwhelmingly powerful, it cannot comprehend the light of God's presence. In other words, the darkness of evil never has and never will understand how to overcome or extinguish God's light. You see…God begins by stepping into the darkness and difficult moments we're facing, as we cry out for His help; and from there, His presence alone brings all the deception and evil works to light before us, which actually makes Satan powerless; so you see, there is hope, while walking through these darkened moments of despair. Maybe today, after reading what I just wrote, you are saying to me… "Diane, I have prayed and prayed and prayed for God to come and help me; but He hasn't." My response to you is this…first of all, we only need to pray once, with a heart that believes in the words we speak. I have found that when we repeatedly pray and beg God for His help; then in some form, we are doubting Him; because faith isn't something we need to convince ourselves of…or even God, because we already know it to be true. Also, we need to realize that God's timing may be playing a part in why our prayer has not been answered; but even if this is true, I have truly come to see that the light of His presence can be our defense…to weaken evil and sustain us, so that we can withstand what we are going through, until we have walked out of darkness. The thing that I would like to leave you with today; is to take hold of the light of God's presence and never allow these darkened moments you're facing to convince you of defeat. Remember who is most powerful…and that is the God who reigns and rules over this world…and over the darkness of evil. When we can come to truly believe this with all our hearts; then we will always have hope…knowing that a time will come, when darkness will once more be made into light. As we close this time together, I pray that you will take hold of the hope that God is giving you today…and that His strength will help you to let go of the darkened moments that are attempting to control your life; that the darkened moments of evil may be brought to light and defeated, so that you can once more experience the beginning of a new dawn…Amen! Have a very blessed weekend and I will look forward to our visit on Monday! God bless!
