Hello everyone! I truly hope that your Thursday is going well! This morning has been a busy one already; but praise God that He is there to walk with us through these trying times in our lives!
Let me ask you a question today… "Do you feel like you're walking alone thru a circumstance?" If so, then I would say that I probably understand what you may be facing at this moment; because there was a time in my life when I once felt very alone too, as I walked through one of the darkest moments in my life. The only way I can describe it to you; is that I felt as if I was totally lost, while being surrounded by barren land…and the path that I was on at the time, was one that shone no light…only darkness. The sky around me seemed black as night and there were no beautiful flowers growing along the wayside…only what appeared to be dead weeds…and when I looked ahead of me, I couldn't even see the end of what I was facing at the time…only a path that went on for miles, with me on it alone.
A Bible verse that has truly helped me through moments such as these is found in Isaiah 43:2, and we read… "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."
Have you ever wondered what makes us feel so alone, while walking down these paths of circumstance? Could it be that we have become so tightly focused on what is happening to us at the time; that we have forgotten about the One who is walking right beside us? Another thing I was thinking on this morning; is that we can also feel like no one else goes through these moments we're facing…and I would say that this alone could easily make us feel very alone.
I remember a time in my life, when the knee surgeries never seemed to stop. When I would go out with my husband for a ride…or even to a doctor's appointment, I would see others who seemed to have it easier. They could run…walk quickly and never seem tired out; where for me, it was just a struggle to walk. These actually became the moments that seemed to say to me…look, you are the only one going through these leg problems, which actually pushed me in a world of my own and made me feel even more alone; but see, that was only because I was focusing on my situation and everything around me, rather than looking for Jesus in all that I was facing at the time.
As I hold this Bible verse in Isaiah 43:2 close to my heart, I am constantly reminded that if the troubled waters are about to overtake me; Jesus will be there with me and will never allow this to happen. When the flames of adversity attempt to take me through a fiery trial, I know now that I won't be burned…and why, because Jesus will be there to kindle the flames.
Today, maybe you are walking through a very hard and difficult time in your life. Maybe you feel as if these moments are about to take you down for good…and even more, maybe you are feeling so alone; that you feel as if you just may not walk out of these difficult times. May I recommend a friend that will walk close beside you…One who will become a good companion…and One who will draw even closer, when the path ahead seems to be dark and barren…and His name is Jesus Christ.
As we close our time together today, my heart goes out to each of you, who are walking down a darkened path of circumstance…and my prayer for you today; is that you will come to see that you are never alone, as long as you have Jesus in your life. Maybe the waves of circumstance appear as if they are about to overtake you…and maybe the fiery trial appears as if it's about to take you to a place of total destruction; but again, my prayer for you; is that you will come to see that Jesus is there…and that He will never allow anything to happen to the one he loves so much…Amen!!
Have a very blessed day…and ALWAYS know that God's got you! God bless…and I will look forward to another visit with you again tomorrow!
