Hello everyone…and how are you doing today? Some of you may be saying to me, "It's a great day Diane," while others may be feeling weighed down by a circumstance. The thing I want to remind you of today; is that nothing is hopeless…no matter how impossible it may seem. Think of it this way…maybe we can't always see something good coming out of these difficult times; but God can; and I have come to see this so many times in my life…so hold onto this hope today.
As we share some precious time together with God, I would like to begin by sharing one of my favorite Bible verses with you from Mark 10:27, and we read… "And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible."
I don't know about you; but there have been moments in the past, when I had become so caught up in the circumstance that I was facing at the time; that I began to convince myself that nothing could ever turn around for the good. In fact, I will never forget a time when I was in the hospital around Christmas and after Keith had left to go home, I just sat there looking at the tile on the floor…feeling that there would be no way out of what I had been facing at the time. Later I came to see that this was only because I was so caught up in the so-called power of the circumstance, rather than the promises God was making to me at the time…promises that He would never leave me or forsake me…and a promise that He was more than able to walk me out of the moments that I couldn't seem to walk out of on my own. As I look back on those difficult times in my life, I now see that even though I couldn't find a way out of those darkened moments; God could do it for me; for as the Bible verse states…"…with men it is impossible, but not with God…"
Maybe today, you are feeling so overwhelmed by what you are facing; that you are beginning to convince yourself that there just may not be a way out of what you are experiencing at this time. May I encourage you today, by saying that even though you may not have a plan of escape…God already does. I think sometimes, we just get so caught up in the overwhelming moments of a circumstance; that we tend to forget that there is One who is stronger and greater than these moments we face. If we could only look above despair, rather than straight into the eye of despair; then I truly believe that hope would remain alive…and even more, I believe that we wouldn't allow ourselves to succumb to these feelings that stem from the circumstance.
You know…a circumstance has a way of making us feel locked up within a cold and dormant season that seems to have no end; but just as winter eventually leads us into a springtime of renewal; so too, will we leave the cold and bitter moments of despair behind; but only if we are willing to remain connected to the One who can walk us out of one season and into the next.
As we close our time together today, I pray that no matter what you are feeling or experiencing right now; that you will truly come to believe that all things are possible with God. I also pray that you will find the strength through Him, to lay every thought, plan and idea of your own to the side; that you may come to truly see that God is more than able to help you, when you can't help yourself…Amen!
Have a very blessed day and I will look forward to our visit tomorrow!
