Hello everyone…and how is everything going for you today? I hope that you are enjoying our journey together into another New Year and that with each day, you will find the strength through Christ to take one more step towards this brand-new year…Amen!
One thing I was thinking on last night, as I was spending some time alone with God; is how it's not always easy for some to believe that another New Year could go better than the present year…especially if this year has been a difficult one for them. First of all, we must remind ourselves that these difficult moments we face have nothing to do with the year we're living in or the year to come; but rather, these difficult times we face are about God's will for our lives and this world we're living in…and one thing I have truly come to see; is that we can't escape His plan for our lives, by refusing to enter another New Year. Think of it this way…if you've made it this far, even while facing past moments of difficulty; then don't you believe that God's power can continue to take you further in this life? We must remember that with this powerful God, nothing will ever be too impossible for Him to do; and the distance that He has already brought us in this life, should also be evidence to us that He will never let us down in times to come. I think that sometimes we become so wrapped up in how difficult life is or how it has been; that we can't see the One who is greater than anything we may face. Today, I just want to share one simple Bible verse with you as we continue and it's found in Luke 1:37, which says it all… "For with God nothing shall be impossible." You know…I think that if we could take a little time and get to know who God really is; then we wouldn't doubt this God of impossibility. Just think, His omnipotence is real, which gives Him the ability to do all things and never fail at what he longs to do for us. Then to top it off…nothing that seems greater than Him, can ever override His strength and ability to be victorious in our lives. Ask yourself this question today…can God contradict His own perfect nature and fail us? Maybe today, you are feeling hesitant about entering another New Year…and maybe you feel that this world is getting so bad that it just might take you down with it. Let's stop right here and remind ourselves of the One who created this world and everything in it…One who is in the heavens, looking down upon all He's created, while controlling every little thing in this world. As we end this time together today, I would like us to think on several different characters in the Bible who truly experienced the God of impossibility. Remember Mary…the one who gave birth to Jesus Christ? At first, when the angel Gabriel came to her and explained her role in the coming Messiah's birth; she just couldn't foresee herself being a part of all of this, as she was still a virgin; but God proved Himself to be a God of impossibility and with time, Mary gave birth to the new Messiah, Jesus Christ. Then look at Mary's relative, Elizabeth, which was too old to give birth herself; but yet she became the mother of John the Baptist. No matter what we feel or see as impossible, it will never be too impossible for God. As we close our time together, I pray that these words that you have read today will help you to take that fourth step towards another New Year…knowing that no matter what you may face in the days to come; that this God of impossibility will be right there beside you…making all things new again! Have a very blessed day…and I hope that you will join me tomorrow for another visit, as we prepare to take that final step into another New Year! God bless!
