Hello everyone! I sure hope that you're having a great start to your Thursday! For me…the sun is shining, while the presence of God is all around me; and I have to tell you…that is all I really need in my day…praise Him!
As we begin our time together today, let me ask you… "How are you viewing the day?" In other words, are you viewing the day through an eye that looks beyond everything bad, to see what may be good…or are you allowing deceptive thoughts to control your mind, due to what may be happening at the moment? I remember a time in my life, when I was so overwhelmed by what was taking place at the moment; that I found myself going with the flow of each thought that Satan was whispering into my thoughts. It seemed as though he had not only seen the weakness I was struggling with at the time; but he also seemed to see this as an opportunity to make matters worse, which he did…that is until my eyes were opened to what I was falling prey to. You know…you and I may not have a perfect life…and there may be days when nothing seems to go right; but one thing I have truly taken hold of overtime; is found in Philippians 4:8-9, and we read… "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9) Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do and the God of peace shall be with you." In other words, we need to keep putting into practice, the things that God has taught us through His word…and only focus on what is true, honest, just, pure, lovely and good; because thoughts such as these will help to shift our minds away from the discouraging thoughts that Satan can attempt to use against us. Maybe you are going through a time in your life right now, when you just can't see anything good. Maybe you feel as though your strength is gone…and there is just no way that you can make it through another day. Stop for a moment and ask yourself this question… "Am I allowing the thoughts from a bad day, to dictate what tomorrow will be?" If so, then one thing I can say; is that thoughts such as these will only take hold of you and control your life, which will cause you to believe in things that just aren't true…things that Satan longs to use in your life as decoys, so he can lure you to a place, where you just may want to give up. As I work for the Lord, through much pain and tiredness, it can be so easy to fall prey to the thoughts that tomorrow will be just as bad. In fact, there have been days, when I have found myself just sitting on the daybed in my office…staring off into space…just holding onto whatever strength may be left in me from that day. Even though I experience many days such as these, I have found a way to encourage myself and it's by saying… "Diane, it's going to be ok; because even though today was a rough one…tomorrow's a brand-new day." You know…there's just something about taking a positive word and adding it to a negative situation. In fact, it not only becomes an instant pick-me-up; but it also seems to stop Satan in his tracks, which I'm sure we all need to see happen right now, especially in these days we're living in. As we close our time together today, I would like to encourage you to focus on the good through the bad. Maybe you have been bombarded…not only by an intense problem; but also thoughts that are attempting to take you down to nothing, which can make the matter seem even worse…believe me, I know. My prayer for you today; is that you will have the strength to walk beyond the deception and negativity that Satan is laying before you…to see the good that can come through these moments; that in the end, you may be able to find a piece of hope to hold to…one that can carry you through these trying times in your life…Amen! Have a very blessed day…and ALWAYS remember that God is with you…no matter what! Take care and I will look forward to another visit with you tomorrow…God bless!
