Hello everyone…and how are you doing today? As for me, I am enjoying some quiet moments alone with God, as we sit here together writing you. What a blessing it is, to sit in the presence of God and begin my day with Him! Oh, how I pray that we all will come to know His presence in each day we live…no matter what we may be going through at the time…Amen!!
Recently, I've been struggling with one thing…and that is how to find balance in my life. It seems as though I am either very busy or I'm struggling through the chronic health issues I go through from day to day; that I don't seem to feel as though I can enjoy something and find that balance, I need to experience more joy and contentment in my life. Many times, I have tried to turn my daily schedule around and try something new; but I always seem to find myself right back to where I first started. The other day, as God was leading me through several different titles to write on for the week…this was one that I can say that I was really looking forward to; because I don't know about you…but I need more in my life than work, pain and exhaustion. Anyways, as I began to prepare for the writing, I found myself very humble before God…asking Him to help me discover or be reminded, as to what I may be doing wrong, even before sharing this writing with you…and as I got deeper with God, He began to lead me to a Bible verse in Matthew 6:33, and we read… "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Through this time alone with God, I came to see that I was so busy trying to redo my schedule and figure everything out on my own; that I hadn't gone to God first. A big wakeup call came to me, when I was reminded; that first we must seek God…live for Him, and then the rest will follow or be added unto us. In other words, we should let God unfold the day before us, rather than doing it on our own; then everything for the day will fall right into place…one by one, which is what will lead us to a balanced life…where we can truly experience peace, joy and contentment. While on the internet the other day, I came across some titles on how to find balance in our lives. For example, one article was saying that we need to not overwork…and then we need to rest for this amount of time…and do something fun for this amount of time and then these things will help to balance our lives; but what if that just won't work out for us? You see…this was what I was struggling with; because I wanted balance…but at the same time, there were things that definitely had to be done in my day, which just didn't allow time for a balanced life. I came to see that my way of attempting to find balance in my life, only seemed to put me in a rut, at the end of a dead-end street, because I was placing too many demands on myself for one day. Also, I came to see that when we try to create a balanced life on our own; then Satan will be there to make matters even worse…so, we definitely need to seek first, the One who already has each day laid out for us, which will also teach us to take life one day at a time. Maybe today, life for you has become snarled up and unbalanced like mine, which only seems to be making your life even more complicated. The first thing we must remember; is to never figure out life on our own, because let's face it…we just don't know how to make it work out in the way that God can. Second, we must choose to live for Him, rather than ourselves; because when we live for ourselves, it's as if we are trying to put a piece of a puzzle in place that just doesn't belong there…and third, we must be willing to follow God, rather than ourselves. By living life in this way, this is when I believe that we will find each day to be filled with peace, joy and contentment, rather than anxiety, unhappiness and frustration. Lord Jesus, as we close this time with You, I pray that we will always remember to seek You first, even before beginning a day that we know nothing about; that You alone may show us how to live a balanced life…one that will bring the joy of the Lord into each new day…Amen! Have a very blessed day…and always remember to let God lead the way, as you walk through each new day! Take good care and I will look forward to another great visit with you tomorrow!
