Is An Unknown Fear Holding You Back from Another New Year?

12/28/2021

Hello everyone…it's so good to be back with you today! As we begin our time together, I'm hoping that you read yesterday's writing and that you have already taken that first step with me towards another new year!
Today, we are going to prepare to take our second step together, by learning how to lay aside our fear of the unknown. I've learned that when we can live with a settled feeling that God has everything under control…and truly believe it; then fear of the unknown won't become a roadblock that attempts to keep us from entering another new year.
I will never forget a time in my life when fear surrounded me and even attempted to take full control of my life. Isn't it amazing, as to how we imagine the worst of times, when we haven't even arrived at that point in time yet? Anyways…one thing I learned through those moments of fear; is that my head was so caught up in what could possibly go wrong; that there was no room left within my mind, to think on what could possibly go right; that is until God opened up two very special Bible verses to me in Psalm 112:7-8, and we read… "He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. 8) His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies." In other words, we don't have to fear the unknown moments that lie ahead of us, or even live in dread of what may happen, when we have a settled feeling that God is already in control of everything that pertains to us.
You know, I think that we sometimes become so focused on all the difficult moments that we have already experienced in life; that we automatically feel as if it will either stay the same or worsen with time. I know that I've done that in the past. I had been through so many knee surgeries and counseling for sexual abuse, along with a very dysfunctional past; that I began to imagine a life that would only be what I was feeling at the moment. As time passed, I came to see that this just wasn't true; but rather, it was a form of deception…devised by Satan, to keep me locked up within these moments of despair.
One thing I know from experience…is that if you and I are going to take that second step towards another new year; then we need to begin by living with a true and settled feeling; that no matter what the new year may bring…God's got it and He will always be there to step in and make a way for us. When we can truly accept this and believe in this with all of our hearts; then we will find it easier to take one more step towards another new year.
Maybe today, you are looking back on all that has taken place within the past moments of this year, and you can't foresee anything happening for the good. Maybe you have experienced some very heartbreaking moments in your life and maybe you have lived with a pain that only keeps reminding you that nothing will ever be the same again. May I come to you and encourage you today, by sharing one thing that I have come to see within my own life, which is this; we never come out of the past and find it easy to walk away from it, until we let go of it. We can't step forward, when we are always taking a step backwards, into moments that may have made this year a miserable one…one that seems to be preventing us from pressing on into another new year.
Today, we need to take hold of the thought; that entering another new year doesn't mean that life is only going to worsen with time; but rather, I see another new year as an opportunity to experience new possibilities and if we choose to not move forward, we just may miss out on the best that God longs to give us.
As we close this time together today, my prayer for you is that you will find the strength to take one more step away from the past and prepare to enter a new year of new possibilities…one that can allow you to experience the finale of all that God has allowed within your life during this present year…Amen!!
Have a very blessed day and I hope you will come back tomorrow, as I will be looking forward to taking the third step with you, towards another new year!
God bless!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
