Hello everyone and how are you doing today? This morning has been a beautiful morning for me, as we got around 3 inches of snow last night. As I look out my window, I'm looking out to a beautiful winter wonderland. Isn't it amazing, as to how God can allow us to see beauty through the storm? Praise Him!
Yesterday evening was a very trying time for me. It seems like lately; Satan has been working overtime to do anything He can to take me away from God and this ministry. I don't know about you; but when life seems to be going in a good direction; that is when Satan seems to fight back the most. For me lately, it has been a weapon of the past that he has been throwing my way. Even though I have overcome so many difficult moments of the past; there seems to always be one that Satan takes hold of…to haunt my spirit through flashbacks, as a means of preventing me from moving on in life.
One Bible verse that God encouraged my heart with last night, as I was coming through this difficult time in my day is found in 2 Thessalonians 3:3, which reads… "But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil."
Maybe right now, you are also dealing with a painful moment in your past…and no matter what you do, Satan seems to be entering your heart with a slideshow of all that once took place in your life. One thing I have truly learned; is that when we have the Lord on our side, we can overcome what Satan has thrown our way; because God is a God that can lift us out of these moments and take our thoughts and hearts to a higher realm, where we can be removed from the clutches of evil.
Lately, I have noticed that Satan comes at me the most in the evening…at a time when things are quieting down from the day, and especially as I drift off to sleep; but what God has taught me to do is found in Ephesians 5:11, which says… "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." In other words, we should not allow these works of darkness to control us; but rather, we should expose them and bring them to light. It's amazing, as to how the power of evil deadens, when we choose to expose Satan's ways. In fact, I have come to see that flashbacks can instantly come to a halt, when the eyes are opened…only to see that where I am is not in the past.
No matter we face in this life…the power of evil will never be greater than the power of almighty God…and the choice we're being given today; is to either wallow in the darkness or expose the ways of darkness. I don't know about you; but I chose to expose Satan's ways and deaden the so-called power that he thinks he can use against me.
As we close this time together today, my prayer for all of us; is that we won't succumb to Satan's ways; but that we will stand in the power of Jesus Christ and make Satan's ways known before him. We must remember that when we take hold of darkness and this weapon that Satan has thrown our way; that this is when the weapon of evil only cuts deeper into the soul. What we need to do with the Lord's help, is to stop Satan in his tracks, by unveiling his plan before him and bringing it to light, so he can no longer use it against us….and I pray that each of us will find the strength through Christ to do just that…Amen!
Have a very blessed day…and I will look forward to another visit with you tomorrow!
