Hello everyone…and how are you doing today? I don't know about you; but I'm starting to feel springtime in the air. This morning, I walked out into our backyard and the birds were singing so beautifully, as though their sweet songs were proclaiming that spring is just around the corner. Oh, how God seems to use moments such as these, as a reminder that He is always nearby. I pray that as we begin; that we will truly experience His special touch in these moments together today…Amen!
As I look back on my life, the moments I tend to be drawn into the most; is when God took hold of what seemed to be a hopeless life…and He made it into something that I could have never imagined. Believe it or not, there was a time, when I came very close to giving up on life and even God. As I faced an insurmountable amount of pain and deep heartache, I can honestly say that I thought that the weight of each difficult moment would crush me. As I was thinking on this last night, God took me back to a Bible verse that He once used during this time in my life and it's found in 2 Timothy 2:13, and we read… "If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself." In other words, if we give up on God, He still remains faithful and never gives up on us.
You know…I think that there are times, when we unknowingly compare God's response to us, in the way that other's respond to us. In other words, when other's grow tired of our problems and walk away, I think we tend to see God's response in a similar way to that. I know for me; there was a time when I was struggling just to remain alive and of a sound mind…and someone said to me, "Until you can get your life together…don't call me." I don't know about you; but moments such as these only seem to rub salt into an open wound of the heart…and moments such as these can also make a person feel that God may respond to us in the same way.
Through time, I did come to see that God was the only one who remained; for when I became faithless…God did remain faithful; otherwise, I wouldn't be serving Him today. Through these very painful moments of my life, I came to truly see that it was God's genuine love for me that had set Him apart from others in my life…and it was that deep and compassionate love that kept Him working on my behalf, even when I felt no strength to continue on.
Today, we need to remember that when we are clothed in Christ; that nothing can separate us from His perfect love… and one thing I can say to you today; is that the moment when we can no longer stand up, due to the heavy load of pain and deep heartache we bear; He will pick us up and carry us…shelter us and continue to finish the work that can take us away from these difficult moments of despair.
Maybe today, you feel as if you are about ready to give up, due to a very overwhelming circumstance. Maybe you feel that all hope is gone…and that the weight of each difficult moment is about to take you down for good. If so, why not hand it all over to Jesus; for it says in Matthew 11:28-30… "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Lord Jesus…I thank you and praise you today for never giving up on me! When all hope was gone…and I was about ready to give into everything that I was facing at the time; You came along and displayed a love to me like no other…and now, I pray that you will enter the hearts of others who are hurting deeply today. Lord, take them and gather them into your loving arms and help them to see what you have shown me over the years; that even though they may be tempted to give up on themselves…You aren't. Help them Lord, to feel a love like no other…a love that doesn't walk away; but rather, a love that draws even closer during the difficult times…and in the end, may they truly come to experience the depth of your love for them…Amen!!
May you truly have a very blessed day…and I hope that you will return again tomorrow, for another great visit with God! God bless you so much!
