Why Does Life Only Seem to Get Worse?

Hello everyone…and how is your Tuesday? I sure hope that your week is off to a good start…and that you will truly experience the presence of God, as we spend each day of this week together…Amen!!
As we begin, let me ask you a question… "Are you feeling as if life only seems to be getting worse, rather than better?" Let me respond to that question, by saying that life really isn't getting worse. Right about now, you may be wondering why I said that. It's because I have come to see that a worldly view of what is happening around us, doesn't always give us the right perspective on life. How we need to see these times right now, is according to what Revelation 12:12 says… "Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time." I hate to say this; but life down here is only going to get worse, before it becomes it's very best.
There was a time in my life, when I began to feel like a punching bag…and I have to admit, I still have moments, when I feel that way. I used to question God, as to why all of these painful moments were taking place in my life; because I was a Christian and I felt that Christians shouldn't have to experience times such as these; but then one day, my eyes were opened to the truth that Satan is working overtime, to remove every soul from the hand of almighty God that he can…and how does he do that…through moments of great affliction.
You know…if we could just see these hard and difficult times we're facing in a positive way; then I'm sure that we wouldn't feel as if life was getting worse; but rather, we would begin to see these moments as a sign to us…that we are right where we are supposed to be…and that times such as these are only leading us closer to an eternity… that will free us from moments such as these forever and ever.
Maybe today, you are discouraged by what is either taking place in your life or even in this world; that you feel as if you just might not be able to hold on and keep going. May I encourage your heart with a Bible verse from Hebrews 10:23, which says… "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)"
Have you ever wondered if we just might be holding fast to what we see happening around us, rather than our faith? As we have experienced a faithful God in times past, we will once more experience His faithfulness in times to come; but we need to hold tight to a faith that can keep us standing strong and not allow these times to weaken us and cause us to waver back and forth, because this will only keep us weakened and unsure of life.
I remember a time, when I took a whole summer and wrote outside on our deck. As I was looking out into the yard, I noticed a flower waving back and forth in the wind; but you know what…it didn't matter how high the wind gusts became; for that flower remained standing and untouched. As I viewed this, I came to see that when we are rooted deep in the Lord; then nothing will ever be able to take us down.
We must remember that no matter what we face in this life, it's not meant to make us feel as if we are about to go over a cliff of total destruction; but rather, moments such as these are actually what will take us step by step, into an eternity with Christ, so hold tightly to your faith and the promises that He has made to you through His word.
Oh Lord, I come to you today; because life is attempting to make us believe that there is no hope in all that is happening around us. Help us Lord, to not see these times as the very worse; but rather, help us to clearly see that these hard and difficult times are leading us down a path that will eventually usher us into an eternity with you forever; that we may continue to live with hope, rather than despair…Amen!!
Have a very blessed day…and I hope you will join me tomorrow for another great visit, as we allow the presence of Almighty God to encourage our hearts during these troubling times!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
