*Let this God inspired writing...from His heart to yours; be a reminder, as to the hope
you once found in Christ...a hope that can keep you closer to Him,
while keeping you distant from the past moments of bondage.
There was a time in all of our lives, when we were in bondage to sin. Life without Christ only allowed our circumstance to place us in a deep dark prison cell of despair; where only Satan held the key and had control of these moments. This became a time in our lives, when we experienced what it was truly like, to be lost in darkness...that is, until we found Christ and our lives began to change, as a light of hope began to overtake the darkness of the past.
It seems like with time, we tend to forget the moments of transformation that once took place in our lives, while our hearts and our thoughts shift back to the old way of life. Here we now know a God, who can free us from bondage and keep us free; but yet we chose to turn from the One who can make life easier...to return back into the past moments of bondage.
Instead of taking hold of a strength that can keep us standing, while helping us to press on; we choose to give into the weakness, while we allow the weakness to gain strength, as a powerful God is made to appear weak within our lives.
Just think...we journey through life, for many years...searching for a light of hope that could take us away from the darkness of despair...only to turn away from the hope we once found; that we may once more return to the weak and beggarly elements, from where we once came.
Here we know God...we read about Him in His word; but yet we choose to go back to a prison cell of despair, rather than taking that first step of trust towards a brand new way of life. How can we sit and beg God for His help, when we choose to walk in the other direction? Do we not know that the ways we choose to walk through life; becomes the road that either takes us into God's arms of refuge or a prison cell of bondage?
Could it be that we don't really know God? Maybe it's that we only know of Him. When we can truly say that we know God, in a personal way; then the temptation or desire to wonder back into the past moments of weakness won't be there...as our desire to follow Christ into a new life, will become our greatest desire...despite the challenges and the struggles that may be standing before us...Amen!!
