Wednesday Word of Encouragement | The Struggles of Life

4/21/2021

This morning, as I’ve been sitting here in my office…trying to collect my thoughts from a week that has already been filled with what seems to be one struggle after another; God began to speak to my spirit and remind me that it’s not always easy to face these struggles; but at the same time, there is a reason for everything he allows within our lives.
I have truly come to see throughout my life that the hard times can definitely make a person feel as if they are walking down a darkened path…one that doesn’t hold even one glimpse of light. We seem to sit in these moments and wonder where God is. We know that He has the power to free us of these moments; so why doesn’t He.
As I’ve been sitting here…thinking on these thoughts…God led me to a Bible verse in John 13:7, which reads… “Jesus answered and said unto him, “What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.” In other words…we need to trust God for the moments that just don’t seem clear to us at the time. One thing I know for sure…it isn’t always easy; because we know in our hearts and minds that God has complete control… but at the same time, there are other forces coming at us…evil forces that are trying to make us believe otherwise, which can make these difficult times seem more like a war, rather than a struggle.
How do we overcome the struggles of this life, while placing a steady and complete trust in God? First, we need to lean on God’s wisdom, rather than our own understanding, which means that we need to stop figuring out why these moments are taking place in our lives…and just go with God; knowing that He is the only One who can keep us on track. Let’s face it…we can’t assume anything, when we don’t even know what’s taking place at the time.
The final thing we need to do; is to stop submitting ourselves to these moments of struggle and what they are attempting to convey to us and start submitting ourselves completely to God…for moments such as these will only keep us caught up within a web of deception.
The encouragement that can help us and give us all that glimpse of hope we need today; is that a time will come, when God’s purpose behind these moments of struggle will be made complete…and that will not only be the time when we are freed from the struggle…but also the time when everything will once more be made clear to us…so let’s let go of the struggle and take hold of God.
Have a very blessed day…and just know that God hasn’t forgotten you!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…

Tuesday Word of Encouragement | Feelings vs. the Truth

4/20/2021

Lately, I have been struggling through a lot of pain, weakness and tiredness. These bad legs that I have had to deal with for over 50 years of my life…along with chronic illness, can sometimes allow my feelings to rise above the truth of what really is. In other words…the weaknesses I’m facing in life can take me down to a place, where all I seem to listen to; is what these weaknesses are attempting to convey to me…messages that remind me, as to how tired I am of pain and chronic illness…and messages that even attempt to make me believe that I have been abandoned by God.
No matter who we are…and no matter what we do in this life…we are not perfect. We may strive for that perfection; but it won’t actually arrive completely until we reach heaven. There will be times, when the burdens of this life will attempt to take us down…and there may be times, when we struggle hard to keep our heads above the troubled waters; but in John 16:22, Jesus is saying… “And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.” An example of this verse is when a woman gives birth. She has a hard time and there’s no getting around it; but when the baby is born, there is joy in the birth because this new life wipes out memory of the pain. The sadness we experience is similar to that pain, but the coming joy is also similar…for a time will come, when joy will once more enter our lives…and it will be a joy no one can take from us…and we will no longer be so full of questions…or experience feelings, whose only goal is to take us down for good.
The encouragement that God is giving us all today is to not judge a moment by feelings alone; but rather, to also turn to His word and read the promises He gives us…promises that say that He will never leave us or forsake us. When we choose to go this route, during the difficult times of life; then our minds will always remain free…fully trusting Him for the results of these difficult times, rather than succumbing to feelings alone…feelings that only seem to take us further down paths of despair.
Have a very blessed day…and ALWAYS know that God is there for you…despite what your feelings are attempting to convey to you.
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane

Sunday Word of Encouragement | One Day at a Time

4/18/2021

Have you ever felt overwhelmed with life, as I do at times? Maybe it’s because we are living in one day, while visiting other days ahead that haven’t even yet arrived.
Lately, my health hasn’t been that good, which for me can make life seem scrambled up and very overwhelming at times. In fact…moments such as these have a tendency to take me into days that are still unsure to me.
Quite some time back, I remember when this used to be even more of a struggle for me…and it was at that time that God began to show me that when we get out of sync with Him…and even life itself; then we only find ourselves walking through the unknown and darkened moments of life…moments that haven’t even yet been made to completely understand.
A Bible verse that has constantly been a reminder to me of this; is found in Matthew 6:34, which reads… “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
Have you ever stopped to think that the things we tend to worry on, in the days that lie ahead of us; may never even happen in the way we once thought? I don’t know about you; but to be honest, I have had moments in the past, when I truly thought that there was a possibility that something might go wrong and it never did. How we suffer needlessly and miss out on the moments of today…all because our thoughts are fixed on future days that haven’t even been made to walk through.
The word of encouragement that I would like to give you today; is to get your attention on what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen in your tomorrows. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up, when the time comes. In this way…we will always find ourselves in sync with God, rather than allowing Satan to use our imaginations, to walk us down a road of worry, doubt and fear.
Let me ask you once more…are you overwhelmed with life? Maybe it’s because you are not only dealing with the moments of today…but other moments to…moments that haven’t even entered your life. As we prepare to enter another new week, my prayer is that we will enjoy the days that lie ahead us…simply by taking life one step and one day at a time.
Many blessing on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane

Saturday Word of Encouragement | God Will Make a Way

Graphic Bible Verse | Risen Hope Ministries
This morning, as I’m sitting here on my daybed…I am looking out to a beautiful start to my day. The sun is shining through the trees…and everything seems to be alive in the yard.
One thing I’ve come to truly understand throughout my life; is that even though the day can seem bright and beautiful…the heart can be darkened by moments of circumstance, which can make it difficult for the heart to feel anything good.
The hope and promise that God has given me throughout the years; is that each day gives us something new…something that wasn’t in our yesterday; and the more we experience these new moments and focus on them…the more we come to see that they do lead us to something better.
A Bible verse that has always been of great encouragement to my heart is found in Isaiah 43:19, which says… “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
The encouragement that I would like to give you today; is to look straight ahead, for what God is longing to do in your life, through the difficult times you’re facing. I have found that when I look into the face of a trying circumstance and focus on that alone; then I also come to believe what that circumstance is trying to convey to me, which only leads me to hopelessness; but when I look ahead, for what God may be doing through the difficult times; then with each step I take through life, I gradually see how He is making a way for me, through the darkened wilderness of despair.
As you begin each day…my prayer for you; is that you will be able to emotionally and spiritually rise above the moments that are attempting to take you down…and that you will be able to look through the foggy moments…that just don’t seem clear right now…to know in your heart that God IS making a way for you…Amen!
Have a very blessed day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…

Friday Word of Encouragement | Never Alone

4/16/2021

With all that is taking place right now in this world; we can have moments when we feel as if we are caught between a rock and a hard place…one for which we can’t escape. Moments such as these can make us feel as if we will fall to a place of no return…a place where the hope we once clung to…seems to be no more.
This morning, as I was preparing to begin my writing…I opened my Bible and found a Bible reference (Isaiah 43:2) written in the front cover… and this is what it said… “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”
I don’t know about you; but from past experience, I have come to see that when I have walked through a fiery trial…or have experienced the troubled waters of circumstance; that these can be the moments that can make life seem so final…as if there is no means of escape. I guess what causes us to feel this way; is because we are looking too much and too deeply into the flames of that fiery trial. I have also come to see that when a trial places us in a troubled sea...where the waves of circumstance can seem so overpowering; then these can also be moments, when we can feel as if we are going down for the last time.
The hope and encouragement that I would like to leave with you today; is that when you feel as if you are in over your head…just know that God will be there…and when you feel as if the circumstance has placed you between a rock and a hard place…where life seems to have come to a dead end…just know that God will come and make a way. You say Diane, how do you know this? Because my past circumstances have thrown me many times into the troubled waters…and I have even experienced moments that made me feel lost and alone, while being surrounded by each terrifying storm of circumstance; but it was through these times that I truly came to see that it was God who never walked away…and it was God who always remained faithful.
You know…we might as well face it…we just aren’t strong enough to handle life on our own…and the problems we face definitely can’t help us, which can make us feel as if we are falling into a deep pit of total destruction; but I know One who has a greater strength…a strength that can lift us out of the troubled waters of despair, while shielding us from the flames of affliction.
No matter what you may be facing today, just know that you are never alone. Even though moments such as these can make us feel alone…God is there…waiting for us to call out to Him for help…and once we do; that is when He will come running…to rescue us from the moments that can seem so overpowering.
Have a very blessed day…and ALWAYS know that God is there for you!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…

Thursday Word of Encouragement | Don’t Give Up

4/15/2021

Lately, I have felt worn down, due to the struggles of my health and the ministry. In fact, I have had moments when I sit and wonder what in the world is happening to me; as I’m sure you feel that way at times too.
You know…it’s so easy to want to give up; but stop and ask yourself…what really does come out of giving up? Through a rough and difficult past, I have truly come to see that wanting to give up only prolongs what we go through. In fact…giving up only brings our lives to a sudden halt...where the only choice we have left; is to sit and wallow in self-despair…and I don’t know about you; but I don’t need to have it any rougher than what I have it at times.
This morning, as I was looking through some verses in my Bible; God led me to a verse in Hebrews 10:36…and we read… “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
It seems like the moments that tend to drag us through life, can attempt to convince us that there will be no good ending to the story that we’re living at the moment; but do you know what…I have come to see that Satan only makes these moments seem worse because God is about to bless us. In other words…Satan’s aim is to keep us distant from God…and how does he do that; by allowing us to see the worst of life, rather than what may be around the corner.
The encouragement that I would like to give you today; is to not throw away what God is about to give you, by giving up. Think back to other difficult times in your life and focus on how God brought you through those times and then you will be reminded as to how there is something awaiting you…something that can bring about something better in your life, just as it once did in previous times.
One thing I know…when we focus on how bad life seems to be; then that is when Satan adds to those thoughts…and before we realize it; we have been dragged into a pit of despair, which can make us definitely want to give up.
Instead of giving up…stick with it and continue to pursue God’s plan for the moment; so you will truly come to experience the promised completion of His plan for your life. Remember one thing…if you give up now…you will never know what could have been.
Have a very blessed day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…

Wednesday Word of Encouragement | The Answer to Your Problem

4/14/2021

This morning…I was seeking God, as to what He would have me share with you today and He led me to a Bible verse in John 16:33 and we read… “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
I wonder how many times we find ourselves so deeply focused on what is taking place at the moment; that we completely bypass the thought that Jesus has already won the battles that can seem so fierce to us.
If we were to look intensely into the moments that are attempting to bring us low, I would think that we would not be able to see the hope we truly have in Jesus…but on the other hand…if we could just take a few moments and remind ourselves that these battles that have entered our lives, have already been won at the cross; then I would also think that we would find it easier to wait on God and expect His best to shine through the darkened moments we face.
You know…Jesus never said that life would be easy…and why…because we live in a godless world; but at the same time, Jesus is reminding us in John 16:33; that we can live with hope and a peace that can help us through these difficult times, just by knowing that He has already overcome everything in this world.  Yes…we will go through times of affliction…and yes, it may not always end when we would like it to end; but the hope we can live with each day; is that there has to be an end to what we’re experiencing…and why…because Jesus already overcame it all in advance at the cross…Amen!
Have a very blessed day!

Tuesday Word of Encouragement | You’re Not Alone

4/13/2021

Today, I was thinking back to a Bible verse that God has used so many times in my life. In fact…it’s a Bible verse that truly saved my life over 20 years ago…and it’s found in John 14:18…and we read… “No, I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans in the storm—I will come to you.”
When I first discovered this Bible verse, I was feeling as if I was out on a raging sea…and the circumstances I was facing at the time had produced the fiercest storm. As I stood on the troubled waters…barely holding onto life…all that appeared to be surrounding me at the time, was nothing but blackened skies and a wind that cut deep within the soul.
As I began to feel alone and abandoned by everyone around me…it was at that time, when I truly came to see that it was only God who could save me from these raging storms within. As I cried out to Him in desperation; He came to me on that troubled sea and held me close, until the storm had reached its end.
Sometimes the storms we face in life can make us feel so abandoned, with no hope to hold to; but the encouragement that I would like to leave with you today; is that there is a God…who out of a great love…longs to share these moments with you…a God that has promised to never abandon you and leave you as an orphan in the storm; so may I encourage you today, to give God a chance. One thing I know for sure; is that even though others may let you down…God won’t…for He will come to you…believe me, I know.
Have a very blessed day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…

Monday Word of Encouragement | April 12, 2021

4/12/2021

This morning, I was looking through a study Bible that is barely holding itself together. This Bible was actually my survival manual, after facing many years of pain and deep heartache. One of the Bible verses that truly stood out and took hold of me is found in Isaiah 26:3, which reads… “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
You know…I just wonder who we’re placing our trust in, when a circumstance hits us head on. The way I see it; is that we are either placing our complete trust in God or in the circumstance…and why do you think I say this…because the one we’re trusting in the most; is also the one that we find ourselves focusing on the most.
As I was coming through an insurmountable amount of deep pain and heartache; God began to reveal this verse to me in a very eye opening way. In fact…I came to truly see that I had been focusing more on the problem…and even every detail of the problem…never realizing that this was a form of trust.
This morning, when I looked up the definition of trust…this is what stood before me… “firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something”…so God isn’t the only one that we can find ourselves trusting; for we can find ourselves trusting in a problem, by what that problem is conveying to us…and from there, we can find ourselves turning our thoughts more often to that problem, rather than God.
The encouragement that I would like to leave with you today, as we begin another new week; is to first, work with God, in regards to the circumstance; but do not focus so intensely on the circumstance; that you find yourself trusting in how the results of that circumstance can save you…for God is the only One who knows what must be done…to mend what is broken…and He may have a different way of resolving the circumstance…and He may even have a specific time, as He works to use the circumstance that He has allowed within your life.
As we close…the final word of encouragement that I would like to leave with you today; is to turn your thoughts often to the Lord; for in this way, you will be seeking and trusting the only One that can save you…and this will keep you from getting caught up in the problem. Remember one thing…the one we turn our thoughts to the most, will be the one we trust the most…and I don’t know about you; but I don’t desire to waste my thoughts on a problem that can never save itself.
Have a very blessed day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…

Sunday Inspiration (April 11, 2021)

Picture
As I look back on my life, I remember the many times, when the painful moments of my yesterdays would make me feel trapped in a world of my own; but then I discovered this powerful verse in Acts 17:27, which I now hold close to my heart.
As I read this verse, while taking in every word that stood before me, I began to see that these difficult times in my life were only being allowed for a reason…and one of those reasons; was that I may seek God even more in my life.
When I look back on the difficult times of the past…I see moments that had at one time placed me in a very dark tunnel…one that definitely didn’t even have a glimpse of light to lead me on my way; but as I allowed the circumstances of the past to nudge me through the darkness; that is when I continued to feel my way to God…and do you know what I discovered? I discovered that He really wasn’t that far from me…for it was the circumstance that was allowing me to feel distant from God…and even life itself.
You know…I think that we all face moments such as these…moments when a circumstance seems to place us in a world of our own…to the place where we begin to feel trapped within these moments; but the word of encouragement that I would like to leave with you today; is to not fight the circumstance; but rather, let God use it in the way He intended for it to be used. In other words…don’t look directly into the face of your problems and focus on the very worst; but rather, seek out the purpose for which God has allowed these moments to enter your life…and from there, let them nudge you through the darkness of despair…and don’t give up; but rather, continue to feel your way to God…and you know what…He will meet you there, just like He did for me.
Have a very blessed day…and ALWAYS know that God is there for you!

Saturday Words of Hope and Encouragement (April 10, 2021)

4/10/2021

A while back, God filled my thoughts with some words that have truly touched my heart. In fact, I have found myself reading these words over and over again throughout the week; so today, I thought I’d share them with you…and they read… “Focus on how you made it to where you are, rather than focusing on how hard it was to get there.”
So many times, I feel that we can become so overwhelmed by a circumstance; that before we realize it, we begin to get caught up in it, rather than actually seeing how we are still surviving these moments.
I remember a time in my own life, when I stood before a mirror in the bathroom…feeling battered and beaten up, by all that I had recently been through. As I stood there, I began to say to God… “I’m just not making it”…and do you know what He showed me from there? He showed me that I was still standing…walking…breathing…and functioning. Yes…maybe it wasn’t in the way that I would have liked it to be…but still, I was surviving those awful moments.
No matter what you are going through at this time, may I encourage you to not focus on everything that has gone wrong; but rather, focus on how you’ve made it to this place in your life…and just know that you are making it because there is a great and loving God holding you up, with arms that have truly become your strength…otherwise, you wouldn’t be where you are today.
Have a very blessed day…and ALWAYS know that there is a God who loves you and longs to be everything…for everything you need!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…

God’s Remedy for Overcoming Weakness

4/9/2021

Last night after falling to sleep, I was awakened by chronic pain. Lately, I have been trying to catch up with some much needed housework, which these legs of mine just don’t seem to want to do.
After several days of taking care of what needed to be done, I started to feel pretty worn out…and in a lot of pain; but as I sat up in bed last night; God began to minister to my spirit and remind me that even though my strength was gone, due to the pain I had been experiencing; that He still had a limitless strength and power…one that could kick into overdrive for me.
You know…I think that there can be moments in our lives, when we tend to forget that there is a greater power available to us…a power that can rest upon us and truly be the strength that can help us to overcome these moments of weakness that we experience from time to time.  It seems as though these difficult times are only embedded within us by Satan, to remind us that we have reached the end of the road, while attempting to lead us deeper into despair; but in 2 Corinthians 12:9, we read… “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
The encouragement that I would like to leave with you today; is to rejoice during these hard and difficult times of life, rather than allowing these moments to take you down and out of commission with God and life itself…because these painful moments are not leading us to defeat, even though they may try to convince us of that; but rather, they are actually leading us closer into the arms of One who can hold us…love us…protect us and be the strength we need, during these unexpected moments of weakness. I truly believe that once we can see our circumstances in the way this verse is relaying it to us; that this is when we will truly come to see that these difficult times can never defeat us; but rather, they can be exchanged for a greater strength.
Have a very blessed day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…

How to Put Out the Fiery Flames of Evil

4/8/2021

This week, God seems to be opening our eyes and thoughts to His power vs. the power of evil; that we may recognize the deceptive ways of Satan and connect more deeply with God, rather than our problems; so today, I would like to continue on and share some thoughts and words of encouragement with you, as to how we can weaken that so-called power of Satan.
As we begin, let’s turn to a Bible verse in James 4:7…and we read…“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Could it be that we are doing the complete opposite of this verse, by submitting ourselves to the problem, rather than God? Don’t we realize that by doing this; that we are also pushing God out of the problem, while allowing the ways of Satan to become more enhanced within our lives.
One thing God recently reminded me of; is that when we walk away from evil and shun its ways; then we are also weakening its power…because when we don’t respond in the way that Satan expects us to respond to the problem; then it makes his plan null and void, which becomes a complete failure for him, rather than for us. On the other hand…when we give up and give into the problem; then this choice actually gives Satan more power. Think of it this way…when a fire is first started, there is only a small flame, as the kindling begins to burn; but as you add more wood to that small fire; then the fire increases with strength and it burns hotter. In a similar way…when we choose to give into the problems we face; then it’s as if we are placing fuel on a fire that is already burning, which only enhances the ways of Satan, rather than deadening them.
The encouragement that I would like to leave with you today; is to not give into the problem that Satan has placed before you; but instead…give that time and attention to God; because when you choose to connect with God rather than the problem; that is when the fiery trial will begin to burn out, while a flame of hope will continue to be the light you need, as you walk through these darkened times of life.
Have a very blessed day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…

Why Have I Become a Hostage to a Weak Circumstance?

4/7/2021

Lately, I have been writing on the power of God and how we need to connect to His power, rather than the so-called power of evil; so today, I would like to take it a step further and discuss the difference between God’s power and the power of evil…and from there, I would like to go even further and talk on the power that Satan seems to attach to our circumstances and how it can easily deceive us into thinking that nothing can supersede that power.
We all know that God is a powerful God…and we also know that Satan holds a power that can make life very difficult at times; but I truly believe that if we could have an eye opening experience and weigh out the difference between these two powers; then just maybe we would find it easier to remain connected to a powerful God, during the hard and difficult times of life.
Last night, as I was sitting here in the evening… thinking on this; I was reminded, as to how God’s power is a power that works instantaneously…for in Luke 1:37 we read… “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Now on the other hand, I have also come to see that Satan’s power is a weaker power…one that doesn’t always work the first time around, which either causes him to devise another plan…or maybe even go back for more reinforcements….for in Matthew 12:45 we read… “Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”
The encouragement that I would like to leave with you today; is that you would come to see that even though your circumstances may display a power that appears to be greater than anything; that your eyes will be open to the truth, rather than a deceptive lie…one that only longs to lead you further into despair.
One thing I have truly come to see; is that when we don’t see God’s power, as a power that is greater than our circumstances; then our lives will only remain connected to a weaker power; but one that can work over time to keep us out of commission with God and even life itself.
Through these thoughts today, my prayer is that we would truly come to see that there is a power that can take us above the so-called power of evil…a great and mighty power that can actually spare us from moments of needless suffering; for with God…He can make all things possible the first time around…that is, if we are strong enough in the Lord to see that; so let your connection with God be one that cannot be broken during the hard and difficult times of life.
Have a very blessed day!

How To Get Up When Satan Knocks You Down

4/6/2021

Last night, my husband, Keith and I were discussing yesterdays writing…and as I was thinking on everything that we were talking on at the time; God began to speak to my heart and these were the words that came out of my mouth, while talking with Keith… “The power that attempts to take us down will never be greater than the power that keeps us lifted to our feet.”
As I was thinking on this again today, I was reminded as to how we can become so caught up in what is actually happening to us at the time…and how bad it truly seems to be at the time; that before we realize it…we begin to see the power of evil, as a power that is greater than our God. In other words…we find ourselves submitting to the problem…and the power that seems to be displayed to us at the time…and from there, we begin to feel trapped and alone, which only takes us down into a world of discouragement and hopelessness.
If we were to go in depth with the thought that God gave me last night; then what we would begin to see; is that even though the power of evil can knock us down…it can’t keep us down, when the power of God enters these moments.
A great Bible verse that goes right along with our talk today is found in I John 4:4, which reads… “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
Yes…we are going to be knocked down in life…and yes, we are going to struggle to get back up on our feet and press on; but when we are willing to shun the power of evil…the power that seems to attach itself to our problems; that is when a greater power will step in and crush the power of evil to the ground, while lifting us back to our feet; but again, we must remember that if we are going to truly experience God’s power in our lives, we need to let go of the hand of evil completely…and take hold of a hand that holds much more power and strength…a hand that can keep us lifted to our feet…and a hand that can lift us high above these moments of despair…Amen!
Have a very blessed day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…

Overcoming a Chaotic Moment

4/5/2021

This morning seemed to be a little chaotic, which is only a reminder to me that Satan is at work. You know…so many times we can become so caught up in moments such as these; that we end up falling prey to them; but what I have come to see many times in my life…is that this only worsens the situation. What we need to do during times such as these; is to just stop…take a deep breath and begin again. We must remember that when we get knocked down by evil…and we remain there; then that is when Satan continues the abuse; but when we can find the strength through Christ to rise back up to our feet and begin again; then our hearts will be sending out two messages. The first message will allow Satan to clearly see that we aren’t going to allow him to kick us around…and the second message will allow God to know that it’s our desire to begin again once more with Him.
One thing I have learned over time is this…how we react to our circumstances, will either disconnect ourselves from evil and connect ourselves once more with God…or the complete opposite.
In Psalm 44:5 we read… “Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.” Today can we say that we have gotten an attitude with Satan…and have truly chosen to continue our journey with God…or have we given into the circumstance and allowed Satan to control us like a puppet on a string?
The encouragement that I would like to leave with you today; is to never allow the blows of evil to keep you down and out of commission with God; but instead, I pray that you will find the strength through Christ to get up…brush the circumstance from you and press on, with the strength and power of a mighty God…Amen!

The Greatest Hope

4/4/2021

This morning, I didn’t know if I would be sharing anything on this page, due to this being Easter Sunday; but as I was beginning to listen to some music and read Luke 24; God began to speak to me about the greatest hope that we could ever hope to experience in this life…and that hope is not only found through Jesus death on the cross; but even more through His resurrection.
Can you image what must have taken place at that time; for to me, it was not only a time when Jesus displayed love and forgiveness to us all; but this time also became a battle between good and evil…and as Satan took Jesus through one of the greatest moments of temptation; it was his aim to keep Jesus from going to the cross.
Even though Jesus eventually walked that lonely path to the cross, after overcoming these difficult moments of temptation; Satan must have felt that this still would be his victory, as Jesus’ crucifixion eventually led Him to His death; but to Satan’s surprise…a time did come, when Jesus overcame death and evil and arose triumphantly and victoriously over the grave.
As I’ve been thinking on these thoughts this morning, I would say that this is the greatest hope that we could ever receive in this life…and not only at Easter; but all year long.
When you feel as if all hope is gone…and you feel as if your life will only end in defeat, just remember that this same Christ that rose from the dead, has the power to rise up within you and breathe new life within you. In I Corinthians 15:55-57 we read… “Where, O death is your victory? Where, O death is your sting?" 56) The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57) But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our LORD Jesus Christ.”
Remember one thing, as we close this time together; nothing defeated Christ at the cross, so nothing will ever be able to defeat you in your life, when that same Jesus resides within you…Amen!!

How Do You See Life, When Life Lets You Down?

4/3/2021

Early this morning, I was awakened by the presence of God…and as I sat up in bed, with pen and paper in hand, this is what I wrote down… “Do we try and ignore the circumstances we face in life…because maybe we feel that if we face these moments for what they really are; then we will see our lives as a failure?
One thing God has truly shown me over the years; is that it’s Satan who wants us to see our circumstances in this way…because if he can convince us that our circumstances only bring about failure in our lives; then he just may also be able to keep us caught up within that unresolved circumstance.
The encouraging thought that I would like to leave with you today; is to turn your thinking around and let the circumstance teach you something new…and walk you into something new, rather than allowing it to bring you further down.
In Philippians 3:13 we read…“Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead.” If we can see our circumstances as lessons to be learned, rather than living up to standards that only cause us to fall…to a place where we begin to see our lives as a failure; then like Paul…we will be able to bypass what Satan is attempting to do and convince us of…and instead of believing that we are a failure; we will find that we have chosen to press on, with a greater longing to learn…grow and become more like Christ.

You are NEVER alone...welcome everyone!

4/1/2021

Hello everyone...and a very happy and blessed welcome to my newest page... "Daily Dose of Encouragement at Diane's Place"!
As some of you may possibly remember...several weeks ago I was writing on my blog... "Writing thru Affliction"...but then I experienced some problems with the ministries website and I was out of commission for about 3 weeks. There's been much work to be done...and many times I definitely felt as if I was in a world of my own...but as you can see; God has once more proven Himself faithful in my life and in the life of this ministry...praise Him!
As we begin our time together, I would like to help you understand a little bit more about this brand new page that God has led me to. Throughout my life, I have come to see and experience moments of loneliness in different ways…and through different circumstances that I have faced in my life. I think the one that stands out the most in my life is when I was going through counseling for sexual abuse. This was a time in my life, when others walked away and didn’t seem to care about the difficulties I was facing, which only seemed to make this time in my life much harder to face.
As I continued to walk this broken path with God, I came to see that He had allowed these moments to enter my life, so that I could understand the loneliness and hurt that others were also experiencing in their lives, which brought about a prayer from my heart to His, which said… “Lord…let me always have a broken heart, for the one who is hurting and alone.”
After coming through the damage that had been done to the ministries website recently…I really didn’t know what was next for me, which once more made me feel as if I was in a world of my own; but then God was reminding me of the prayer that I had at one time said to Him…and from there, the header was made and every word that has been placed on this page came from the heart of God to me; so in short…God and I would like to make this a place or a haven…where those who have felt tossed along the wayside can come and find hope and encouragement. From what God has laid upon my heart, I will be posting a daily word of encouragement…or maybe even something that I have learned along the way…and from there, I would encourage you to also share whatever may be on your heart…that we may discover a closer connection with God together.
As I was beginning my writing to you this morning; God began to take me back to a Bible verse in Psalm 34:18, which reads… “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” The way I see it; is that God is going to use this page to love and encourage us through the pain and hardships of life…and even more; to let us know that we are never alone…and why…because He is truly the One who is closest to the brokenhearted.
I truly hope and pray that you will come back…and find this to be a place where you can find encouragement…and maybe a new friend...and a hope that can help you to keep pressing on…no matter what you may be facing at this time!
Till we meet again…take care & many blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane (K Hiltz Chamberlain)
