Have you ever wondered why we find it so easy to lose heart, while facing overwhelming moments of circumstance? It's because we are too focused on what is happening around us, rather than what is happening within us.
I'll tell you…this has been a week for me. It seems like everything Satan could do to me…he has done. As I have faced one day into another of this; God has shown me how easily we can get ourselves fixed on what is going on around us…and before we realize it…we find ourselves losing heart. As I've been sitting here this morning…looking through some Bible verses…God led me to a great Bible verse in 2 Corinthians 4:16, which reads… "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
Think of it this way…when we look at our bodies and what we're experiencing at the time, we can convince ourselves that we are looking rough and are getting old; but when we bypass the outer appearance…to view the youth that still remains within the heart; then our perspective on life changes for the better. We must remember that even though the outer appearance makes us feel like things are falling apart…on the inside, God is creating new life and not a day goes by, when we don't experience his unfolding grace. Each day, I am learning more and more to slow down and look for what can keep me lifted up, rather than the thoughts that can easily bring me down.
Today, I would like to encourage us all, to not become so fixed on what the outer appearance seems to be conveying to us; but rather, take the time to slow down and drink in every moment that is producing something better through the troubled times…even if it's only something small. When we can view life in this way; that is when we won't lose heart; but instead, we will discover a heart that longs to become more deeply connected to a God, who is working to renew us day by day.
Have a very blessed day…and always know that God is behind the scenes…working to give you His very best!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
