This morning, as I sit here in my office…I am feeling the depth of all that I have experienced throughout these past couple of weeks…and while sitting here to myself; God's love has now stepped into these moments…to take me back to other times when the battles raged so hard that I couldn't even begin to understand how I would ever overcome them. Even though I felt that way at the time…God is now reminding me of the moments when I did overcome them, with the help and guidance of His mighty hand .
You know…Satan knows our weaknesses…and it seems that when one of his plans doesn't work with that weakness; then he goes back for more reinforcements and more plans, which can make life seem very overwhelming. The one thing that God is reminding me of right now; is to not allow those overwhelming thoughts to continually control my mind and heart…for I have come to see that when I do; then the problem only worsens with time.
A Bible verse that God has brought to my thoughts many times is found in Psalm 42:5, which reads… "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance."
No matter what you and I are facing today; we live with a hope that says that the One who lives within us, will always be greater than what is taking place around us. Why do we allow the overwhelming moments of life, to take us to a place where we are depressed and down in the dumps? Why do we cry, as though there is no hope? Instead of allowing Satan to lock us into a weakness…where he can continually have his way with us; why not fix our eyes on God…for soon we'll be praising Him once again, just like other times in the past.
If you too are facing some very overwhelming moments in your life right now; then ask yourself this question…why should I feel discouraged…and why should my heart feel lonely, when God is there for me? The thought that has helped me the most today; is knowing that just as God has always been there for me in the past…He will be there for me once more.
Today, may I encourage you to let go of everything except for God and reflect on the past moments, when He has been so faithful to you? One thing I know for sure…when you choose to do this; that is when the overwhelming moments of circumstance will be exchanged for a perfect peace…a peace that will remind your soul and spirit that everything will be just fine.
Have a very blessed day…and always remember that the One that lives within you; is greater than what is happening around you!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
