Some days can be more difficult than others for me, as I live from day to day with chronic pain. It’s amazing how life can be so different, when a stiff leg is dragging behind you and chronic pain is weighing you down. I have to be honest…there are days, when I just don’t know if I can continue the work I’m doing; but then God keeps reminding me that I can…and you know why; because I’m not doing the work; but rather, He’s doing it through me.
As I’ve been sitting here writing, I have come to see that all God needs is my hands, to type out the words He whispers within my heart. I guess that sometimes, we just need to stop and give ourselves a gentle reminder that we aren’t the ones in charge, which to me, can make the load seem much lighter.
In Matthew 11:29-30, we read… “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
You know…sometimes I think we just need to stop processing everything through our own thoughts and come to realize that the only way life is going to seem easier; is when we make an exchange…our heavy load, for a lighter load; that only God is able to offer us. Once we get our focus back on what God can do, rather than what we feel we must do; then I truly believe that life won’t seem so overwhelming…and the load that once seemed to lead us down a path of despair, will now become much lighter and filled with hope!
