How many times do we fall prey to moments of weakness…moments that attempt to sink us low, within a heart of fear and dread? Lately, I have been facing some uncertain times in my life…moments, when I just don’t know where the situation will lead me; but one thing God is reminding me of; is found in Psalm 112:7-8, which reads… “He does not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may happen. For he is settled in his mind that Jehovah will take care of him. 8 That is why he is not afraid but can calmly face his foes.”
I think that we tend to become so deeply focused on the uncertain moments of what may happen; because we have taken our eyes off of God. First of all…we don’t have to fear the bad things that attempt to enter our minds…or even live in dread of what may happen because we have a God that is much greater and stronger than these weak moments that attempt to sink us low, within a pit of despair.
One thing I have come to see many times in my life; is that when I take my problem or even these uncertain moments by the hand; then they not only lead me down a path of fear and dread…but most of all, they lead me away from the God I definitely need, during difficult times such as these.
Every day, we should have a settled feeling…one that won’t cause us to sway back and forth…but one that will always help us to calmly face these difficult times that come our way…knowing that our God will never let us down; but will ALWAYS be there to take good care of us. Ask yourself this question today…why would God create me…to love me…only to sit back and watch me fall hopelessly into total defeat. First of all…if He did that; then that would also make Him a defeated God.
You know…sometimes it’s not always easy to walk down the darkened paths of the unknown; but when we can focus more on what God will always do for us, rather than what the problem may attempt to do to us; then we will truly be able to have a settled back feeling…knowing that God will always be there…just at the moment we need Him the most!
