As I look back to a time, when God’s Son was walking in the direction of an old rugged cross; I also think back to the time, when He was spit upon…beaten and ridiculed. Even the ones, who had at one time followed Him, were now crying out for Him to be crucified…but through all of this; Jesus…God’s Son, still remained faithful to His Father in heaven…and even more…to us.
Let me ask a question today…when pain racks our bodies or depression overtakes our minds…or even when we lose a job or suffer great loss, can we walk beyond these painful moments in our lives…just as Jesus did and remain faithful to Him?
Throughout my life, there is one thing that I have come to see and that is how words can be so easily spoken…but to live them can be a completely different story. I truly believe that the true test of our love for Christ; is when we can go through the hard times; but walk through them, with a love for Christ that never wavers.
We must also realize that this time of testing will reveal to us, whether there really is a deep love for Jesus in our lives…because a love that is completely devoted to Him, will not have to work at being faithful to Him.
As I walk through each moment of serving God…I also walk through difficult moments of pain, tiredness and sometimes moments of discouragement. You don’t know how many times, I have either wanted to quit or not write; but there is something within the heart; that keeps tugging me back…to never give up…and remain devoted to the best friend I could ever have…and that kind of love is what keeps me committed to God and to those in need of His love.
In Hebrews 10:23, we read… “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised ;)” When we see how our God is faithful to us; then we in turn should be able to do the same…without wavering. This life we live is never going to be easy or perfect; but when we can allow our relationship and love for God to grow through the hard times; then we will see that we can remain faithful to Him…no matter what.
