How many times do we wonder where God is…in the midst of an overwhelming trial? You know…the Bible says that God will never leave us or forsake us; so why do we feel at times, as though God has abandoned us?
Today…while thumbing through my Bible; I was drawn to a verse in James 4:7…and we read…“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
I have come to see, through very difficult times; that at the moment, when I felt as though God had abandoned me…it was actually the other way around. You ask me why? Because I found that I was more involved with my problems than God…and because of this, I wasn’t submitting myself to God…but rather, the ways of evil. They had so much control over me, because I had allowed it to happen, by the way I thought and reacted to my problems.
The only way we are going to be drawn closer to God through a trial; is to resist Satan…and his ways. When we are willing to draw closer to God, rather than a problem; then we will be resisting Satan, which will reverse what we once felt…and from there, we will be drawn closer to God, while our actions cause Satan to flee.
No matter what you’re facing today, just know that God is still there for you…but before you can actually feel the depth of His love and care for you; you must first resist the evil that is attempting to control your life, through a difficult circumstance. Once you let go of the hand of your problem and take hold of God; that is when you will know without a doubt that God is still with you…no matter what comes your way!
