Resisting Satan...

7/5/2018

What could be one reason, why our problems increase in strength, rather than diminishing in strength? Could it possibly be that we are so focused on what is happening at the moment; that we have unknowingly taken the hand of our problem and allowed it to lead us to other problems?

In James 4:7-8a, we read…“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you…” I think that there can be times, when we just don’t realize where our problems can take us…just by thinking on them and focusing on them. Do we really stop to think that when we are focused on a problem; then we really aren’t resisting the devil? We must remember that words alone don’t cut it; but rather, we need a form of action that will truly relay our message to evil…like focusing on God and seeking Him for the answers, rather than pondering on a problem that will only end up taking control and making matters worse.

After reading these Bible verses several times; one thing I am seeing; is that we need to have ourselves locked into Almighty God. When we truly choose to submit ourselves fully to God; then evil will not only leave; but God will draw closer to us, where the problem can be left with Him, which will make it that much harder for Satan to have control.

Today, can we say that we are sending the right message to evil…a message that says that you are not going to control my circumstance anymore…or have we unknowingly relayed a message that says…I’m ready for more. No matter what we face…and no matter what is taking place at the time; we need to turn away and run to the One, who can truly lead us to the remedy we need…during this time of need.
