Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Friday to you all! Well, we made it through another week…and no matter what we have faced or how difficult it has been, God has been faithful. As we begin this time together today, my prayer is that we will truly come to see that no matter what we go through in this life…God will ALWAYS remain greater…Amen!!
Around the first of the week, I was speaking with someone who had experienced something that I could never even begin to describe to you today. It had affected this person in such away; that fear began to take a tight hold on their heart…to the place that they began to think that the same thing could possibly happen to them. As I began to encourage this person, God took me back to the story of Daniel, so today I would like to start out by sharing a couple Bible verses with you from Daniel 6:21-22, and we read… "Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live forever. 22) My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt." To back up a little…Daniel was thrown innocently into a den of lions. Can you imagine what it must have felt like to be there amongst all those hungry lions? In a similar way, we can see our circumstances in the same way. We can feel as if we have been thrown into a pit of despair, while doing no wrong; but we must remember that this is where we will either recognize God as One who is greater than what we're facing, or we just might face the results of what awaits us without Him. You know…even though we face these very hard and difficult moments in our lives…moments that can bring us to our knees; that doesn't mean that they can defeat us. We must remember that God sees all things…and even though He allows certain things to enter our lives, just as He did in Daniel's life; that doesn't mean that they will have the upper hand and take us to a place of total destruction. There is one thing I truly love about this Bible story, which is this; even though Daniel knew that this den of lions was no good place to be at the time; He also knew that His God was in charge of everything that pertained to him…and because of His faith and belief in God; an angel was sent by God to shut the lions' mouths. I'll tell you…that must have been something to see! No matter what we're facing today, can we truly say that we believe in the power of Almighty God…or is it that we only believe in the power that we read about in these Bible stories? In other words, have we weakened this powerful God by the way we perceive Him? We must remember that if God's power was great enough to close the mouths of those hungry lions; then He surely has the power to shut up that toothless lion, we call Satan. You know…even though Daniel had to face a very hard and difficult time…for nothing He had done wrong; the king and others around him came to see how powerful Daniel's God truly was; and the power that Daniel experienced from His God that day, can still be experienced today; for we have a God who never changes with time…so don't fear the moments you're facing right now…for your God's in charge…Amen! Have a very blessed weekend…and ALWAYS know that God is greater than your circumstance! God bless…and I will hope to be with you again on Monday!
