Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Wednesday to you all! I truly hope and pray that your today is even better than your yesterday…and that no matter what you may face; you will ALWAYS know in your heart that these moments can't defeat you; but rather, these are the moments that can take you to a different realm…one that can draw you even closer to God…Amen!!
Yesterday, while seeking God's help, as to what He would have me to share with you today; He took me back to a quote that I had written many years ago…one that I have actually lived; so today, I thought I'd begin by sharing it with you, and we read… "It's not how fast we climb these mountains or how quickly we reach our destination…or even how difficult the journey may seem; but rather, it's what we learn through the climb; that will be etched upon our hearts forever."
As I look back to the hard and difficult times of my life, I see moments when I walked through valleys of barren land, and I also see moments when I stood before mountains so steep and so tall, with no other way to go but straight up. I'll tell you…a mountain of adversity can be a very difficult path to climb; because the ground isn't always stable, and we may even face danger along the way; but one thing that God has taught me through the climb; is to take my eyes away from all that could bring about a fall and look for what I could learn along the way…things that could give me hope and renewed strength…to help me through the remainder of the journey.
Last night, as I began to think on this more…and all I had gone through on the mountain; God led me to a couple Bible verses in Romans 5:3-4, and we read… "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4) And patience, experience; and experience, hope:"
Look at it this way…you are walking down a path that is already rough and rugged, and then as you continue to press on…this huge mountain stands before you. You pray for God to remove it from your path; but nothing seems to happen. You look for any direction you can take, to get around this mountain of adversity; but yet, there is no other way but straight up. As you prepare to climb…you realize that you are weak from what you have already faced along the way… and as you look straight up that mountain, you begin to feel even more that you just may not make it. Then after realizing that there is no other way; you begin to cry out to God for strength and the help you will need to climb this mountain; and as you take the first step, you begin to feel God's strength kick in, as you take more steep steps up that mountain. Then as you look off the side of the mountain, you begin to see the beauty that surrounds you, rather than the dark and dismal moments you once experienced; and from there, something begins to kick in even more, as you begin to feel a ray of hope hit your face for the first time. As you continue to press on, you see a winding path before you that almost seems impossible to walk through; but as you reflect on the distance you have already come; that seems to give you hope and even more strength for what is up ahead. Then before you realize it…the mountain top is just before you, and as you take that final step to the top of the mountain; you turn around and see how far you have come…and you also see that with God's help, you were able to persevere and experience His mighty hand at work in your life, which from there gives you hope, for other mountains that may cross your path.
No matter what we face in this life…times such as these can make us feel as if we are climbing the steepest mountain ever. As we size up these moments, they can attempt to convince us that we will never make it over the mountain of adversity; but I have truly come to see that even though we may not have the strength and wisdom to climb these mountains alone; there is a God who can give us the strength and the help we need, to walk through the long and dangerous passageways of life. Remember it's not how fast we escape these troubling times; but rather, it's what we learn through the climb; that will be etched upon our hearts forever.
Have a very blessed day…and I will hope to be with you again tomorrow!
