Comforting Words of Help and Hope for the Hard Times

8/5/2021

Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Thursday to you all! As we begin this very special time together with God…I just pray that we will truly come to see how He can be there for us…no matter what we may be walking through…and no matter what Satan may attempt to deceive us with…Amen!!
As I was sitting here this morning, in the presence of almighty God; He first led me to an old hymn titled… "He Leadeth Me"…and some of the lyrics read… "He leadeth me, O blessed thought! O words with heav’nly comfort fraught! Whate’er I do, where’er I be, still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me." Can we truly say today that God's hand is powerful enough to lead us out of the troubled times that attempt to bring us to defeat? In other words…do we find comfort in knowing that God is there…no matter how tall the mountain of circumstance may be?
I remember a time when my husband worked a seasonal job for the Air Force, until he was able to get on full-time, which meant that he worked until the season was over. There were times when I struggled to handle this; because my relationship with God wasn't where it is today, which only led me to worry, rather than His presence. Little did I know that there was someone greater than these times we were facing…One who could assure me that everything would be alright; but instead of seeking God in this way, I allowed myself to be drawn into what had happened…and what could possibly go wrong from there.
Now, as my life has taken a different turn with God, I experience the circumstances I face in a more comforting way…just knowing that God is there…and I'll tell you…this has truly helped me through many tough days of pain, along with other circumstances that may attempt to come my way. In fact…I have come to see that safety and peace can only be found during the hard and difficult times of life, when I choose to take hold of God's hand, rather than the hand of circumstance.
After listening to this old hymn this morning…God took me from there to a beautiful Bible verse in Isaiah 43:2, which reads… "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."
Satan definitely has a way of convincing us that our circumstances will defeat us…because it's not only his job to afflict us; but it also seems to be his job to make us believe that this affliction is more powerful than God. Even though Satan has a way of penetrating our thoughts, while working to make us believe that defeat is so real…there is a God who will walk through the troubled waters with us, while keeping us from the moments that long to overtake us…and there is a God who will be a shield about us…a shield that can keep us safe from the flames of affliction. The only thing we need to do is to believe this and walk away from the thoughts that only spell out defeat…and when we can achieve this; then we will also come to see even more, as to how much greater our God is…greater than the circumstances that attempt to take us down.
No matter what we face…and no matter how much these circumstances may attempt to defeat us…these moments can never lead us to a dead end in life because God is God…our own personal God…One who can stand up to any form of evil and defeat it…Amen!!
Have a very blessed day…and I will hope to see you tomorrow!
God bless!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
