Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Tuesday to you all! What a great morning I have been enjoying, while watching birds in the feeders…and especially in the birdbath, as they prepare for another hot one. I sure hope that your day is off to a great start too…and that you will truly come to experience a God who is greater than weakness!
One thing that I have come to see throughout my life is the need to go after the desire, rather than the weakness. Over time, while facing a lot of difficult moments in my life, I have come to see that the desire of the heart has to be greater than the weakness that attempts to hold us back in life…and we must remember that words don't cut it alone; but what we also need is a pursuing heart that longs for something that can relieve us of these hard times we're facing.
Today, I would like to share a Bible verse with you in Psalm 27:4b, and we read… "One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after…"
Do we stop to think on how our thoughts and words play a part in how our prayers are answered? For example…we can pray and give the desire of our hearts over to God; but what are we doing following that prayer? Are we pursuing that desire, until we find it…or are we going back to the wallowing hole of weakness, while thriving on everything that seems so bad?
One thing we must remember…is that God is not only listening to us; but He's also watching us from the heavens, to see what follows the words we speak. If we are only praying…but never going after anything, with all our hearts; then why would God see our request as a true desire of the heart?
As I look back on my life…one thing I know for sure; is that if I wouldn't have gone after the desire of my heart…the desire to be set free from my past; then I would probably still be wallowing in the those heartbreaking moments that I once experienced. I have truly come to see that there must be a drive within us…a deep desire that keeps us pursing, until we find what God longs for us to find.
In Deuteronomy 4:29, we read… "But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul." Can we honestly say that we are seeking the Lord with all our hearts…and what He longs to do within our lives during these difficult times…or are we continually seeking after a weakness that longs to keep us captive and away from the freedom, for which Christ died for? If we aren't being honest with ourselves and admitting what we are or aren't pursuing; then how will we ever find ourselves on the right path that can keep us steered in God's direction?
No matter what we face…and no matter how difficult it may seem at the time; there is a way out…and it's not with words alone; but rather a heart, whose desires are greater than the weakness that's attempting to hold us back in life. Can you say that you are seeking and pursuing God's best with all your heart…or is it that you have said a prayer…expecting God to do it at the snap of a finger? Remember…what we follow after…will be what we are led to…and also what we will receive in the end; so pursue…pursue…and pursue…and one thing I know…when God not only hears your prayer; but sees a heart that is seeking until it can be found; that is when I believe that you will truly find the desire of your heart.
Have a very blessed day…and I will hope to see you again tomorrow!
