Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Tuesday to you all! I truly hope that your day is going well! As we begin our time together, my prayer today is that we will continually come to see, as to how easily we can be taken away from despair…simply by focusing on God's desires above our own…Amen!!
I'll tell you…I just love observing the hand of God at work in my life…and how He can take my own thoughts and make them into something even greater…and more special! The other day, as I was spending time alone with God before bed, I began to think on how our hearts should be open to Him, rather than ourselves. I just wonder how many times we have said to ourselves… I think that this is what God wants for me; or maybe we just expect Him to do everything in the way we feel He should. Don't we realize that we don't have a clue about our lives and where they are headed? I would say that if we already knew; then we wouldn't find the need to pray and ask Him for His help.
Last night, as I was spending some quiet moments alone with God, He began to lead me to a couple Bible verses in Proverbs 3:6-7, which reads… "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7) Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil." In other words, we should think about what God wants for us, with every step we take thru life; for in this way, we can find the true help we need, while knowing the right direction to take. Also, we need to realize that our own wisdom isn't deep enough, to understand the ways that only God knows…and has already charted out for our lives.
There is one thing that was brought to my attention the other day…and that is how everything in our lives has been preplanned. In other words, God already knows everything that will take place in our lives…and the reason for it all, even before we live it…and I have come to see that He even has a back up plan…one that can kick in and help us swerve away from the detour roads that Satan attempts to drag us down. Now wouldn't you say that if life has already been predestined by God…and we don't have a clue, as to what is about to take place; then wouldn't you think that it should be God's wisdom we're turning to, rather than our own?
As I was studying these Bible verses last night in Proverbs 3:6-7; I began to reflect on verse 7 even more, which reads… "Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil." We must remember one thing…if we are ever going to understand God's ways and know which direction to take; then we must lay aside our own so-called wisdom…and let go completely and acknowledge the One who already has the answers we need…and how do we do that; we begin by fearing the Lord, which means to humbly submit ourselves to Him…and only Him. From there, we also need to depart from evil; because we cannot submit ourselves to God…and look for what He is doing in our lives, while allowing evil to take hold of our own thoughts and ways and drag us down other unknown paths that would take us further away from the presence of God.
Let's stop for a minute and ask ourselves this question…why do we turn to God for help; but yet we follow after our own thoughts and ideas, as to how the problem can be resolved, when He is the One who has predestined our lives and created us for a reason that we don't even understand?
No matter what we face…and no matter what we may be struggling through; we will never get to the other side, unless we allow God's wisdom to crown each problem with success. Yes…life isn't easy…and times such as these can take our thoughts away from God, while placing them on ourselves; but we must remember that the wisdom of God is greater…and He not only sees what's taking place at the moment; but He also has the remedy for it all.
As we close this time together, let me leave you with one final question… "Do you value God's wisdom above your own?" I have truly come to see that when it's the other way around; then we only find ourselves stuck within the problem. Let's face it…we don't know what is happening…or even why it is happening; so why would we ever have the answers? Today, we need to begin anew by seeking a wisdom that can take us to places in life that we could have never imagined. Once we choose to value God's wisdom above our own; that is when we will find that life can be easier, even while facing difficult times…Amen!
Have a very blessed day…and I will see you tomorrow!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
