Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Friday to you all! Well…it's a rainy autumn day outside my window this morning; but praise God…that no matter how dark and gloomy life may appear to be…the light of His presence still shines within us…and becomes a great reminder to us…that we are never alone in this darkened world…Amen!!
As we begin our time together today…maybe you are experiencing some tough times of pain, deep heartache or discouragement; and on top of that, your situation may be also causing you to feel alone. You seem to reach out for someone to care and be there for you; but no one seems to even notice enough to reach back.
As I was thinking on this last night; God reminded me of a Bible verse in 2 Timothy 3:1-2a, and we read… "…perilous times will come: 2) For men will be lovers of themselves…," which means that this life will be more about a persons own needs and their own wants and desires, rather than thinking on God and the needs of others.
Even though others may not always be there for us, at a time when we could use a friend or loved one the most, I have truly come to see that God is a God that will be there…and will never walk away from us. In other words…we can never be too broken for God to love us and care about these difficult times we're facing.
Throughout my journey with God, there have been some verses in the Bible that have become more highlighted within my life…verses that have truly become a wake up call that God is there; and a few of these verses that have truly touched my life over the years are found in Psalm 142:4-5, and we read… "I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. 5) I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living."
Actually, these verses in the Bible were a prayer by David, at a time when he was hiding in a cave from Saul and his army. As you read each word, you can feel the distress he was experiencing at the time, as he cried out to God. Even though he had come to see that no one cared about his situation; he knew that God would be there…and that he could find refuge in Him.
As I look at where I am right now in my life…I too have lost others…that I once thought cared about me; but due to what I have been through along this journey with God…they walked away. In fact…there used to be a time, when that really bothered me and made me feel very alone; but since I have come to see that what I need…is what I already have, which is God in my life; I no longer feel the need to work for someone else's love, which is very satisfying.
Maybe today, you are looking for someone to just listen to you and see the need of your heart. Maybe you have looked in every direction; but still…no one has reached back to help you or even care about what you are going through at this time. May I suggest someone to you…One who has been the dearest friend that I could ever have…One who has never grown tired of me and walked away…and one who has truly filled the empty voids…left behind by others who walked away…and His name is Jesus Christ.
One thing I know for sure; is that a visit with Jesus, will turn your life around forever…and will help you to see that there is someone who will care for the need of your heart…and never walk away. All you need to do; is pull up a chair within the heart and have a good visit with Him…and I guarantee you; that you will experience a presence that will bring peace and hope, during the most trying time in your life.
As we close, my prayer for you is that you will find the peace and contentment that I have truly found in Christ; and that you will come to see that a simple talk with Him can exchange the hurt and loneliness, for a true and lasting peace…one that will always be a reminder to you; that you are never alone, even while living in a lonely world…Amen!!
Have a very blessed day…enjoy your weekend…and I will hope to be back with you again on Monday!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
*If you haven't yet accepted Jesus into your heart…and have found the hope that can rescue your heart and save you from evil, I would encourage you to check out… "Come to Jesus."
